About Ted B
I was brought up on the east coast with four seasons. Later moving to California to work as a physician, I had the good fortune to travel to Mariposa and Yosemite during the winter season to find a truly unique splendor. I decided that this was the ideal place to go for rest, while getting back in touch with nature.
Ted B purchased this Cabin in 2012
Why Ted B chose Mariposa
This property is unique as it sits so quietly and privately surrounded by 40 acres of forest and fields at 3200 feet. Yet easily accessible from Route 49 only a mile away.
What makes this Cabin unique
Bring a book and get ready to enjoy the peace and rustic beauty from one of the two large decks overlooking the woods. Ready to take a walk? No need to go looking elsewhere, when you are ready to explore nature. You'll find carved paths traversing the property's 40 acres. This home will take you back a century with the original design elements and redone materials, while maintaining the up-to-date conveniences.

Relaxing oasis close enough to Yosemite
Our stay at this cottage retreat was absolutely lovely. The owner and property manager have kept it immaculately clean, fresh and new. All essential amenities were available along with excellent WiFi service. We enjoyed the serenity of this natural setting with occasional visits from hummingbirds and deer family in the early mornings. Loved the perfect decorative touches of the interior as well as the soft glow of string lights on the back porch as we sat out enjoying a cold beer reminiscing over our Yosemite adventures. Glacier Point was the highlight view of the entire park, unbelievable majestic experience! Thanks again for the excellent hospitality here, we would come back in a heartbeat!

Perfect for busy Yosemite season
Our family of 4 from NYC finally got our chance to visit Yosemite. The only catch--it was in August, during the busy season. We chose this cottage because it was on a large private property and would give us some time away in the mountains from the crowds while still being able to visit Yosemite and enjoy all the beauty. Clean, extremely tasteful in decor, gorgeous view from the porch, stocked with old-school board games, and complete with wild life roaming about the property, the cottage was exactly as advertised. Ted, the owner was very communicative, offering suggestions for nearby shops, etc. and promptly answering questions we had about the cottage. We would visit again in a heartbeat! (And we've already recommended the place to some friends who plan to visit Yosemite in the fall.)
It’s a lovely countryside place to spend your vacation!
The cottage is just as lovely as the pics shows or even better! It was modern, clean and comfortable. Its located in a big grass field (have to drive 5mins mud road) makes the cottage a perfect unbothered vacation place! We surprisedly spot a deer in the yard:)
Highly recommended, just remember to load map data before getting or leaving there, the mobile signal is weak around the cottage.
Great base camp for Yosemite
Our family of four had a really nice stay while we explored Yosemite. The drive was only about an hour to the entrance on 140, and the town of Mariposa is a great little place to hang out, too. Highly recommend.
