About Geri McBride
I have always loved the Smoky Mountain area & have the fondest memories of when my Daddy would take the whole family there on yearly trips. I can remember dreaming about how great it would be to live in one of those wonderful mountain cabins when I grew up. It was a dream of mine that stayed with me throughout the years. I now have 3 cabins there and all of them are so very special to me. I love taking care of them all, remodeling, redecorating each one, making them all very special, cozy & comfortable home-away-from-homes for my guests and myself to enjoy. Of course, all of them are pet friendly as I know how important is is to take best friends along.
Geri McBride purchased this Cabin in 2015
Why Geri McBride chose Chalet Village
This property was a 'have-to-have'. I have been going to the Smoky Mountain area for the past 11 years with my best little traveling buddy, Dusty, a Shih-Tzu I have had him since he was just a few months old. Since I bought my first cabin there, I have had the name of 'Dusty's TreeHouse in the back of my mind & have searched for a property that would fit that name just right. Then I found this one & it could not be a more perfect chalet for the name as it has floor-to-ceiling windows all around in every room, it is round in design, sets high & is surrounded by beautiful mature trees of the Great Smoky Mountains. The location is just perfect for visiting Gatlinburg, Pigeon Forge & Sevierville for shopping, restaurants, events, activities & sight-seeing, as they are all so close-by & easy roads to travel. You can take Gatlinburg ByPass to miss all the downtown Gatlinburg traffic or take the main road for about 3 miles into downtown Gatlinburg to visit all the many sites, restaurants, events of Gatlinburg, Pigeon Forge & Sevierville. For fun & to miss all the traffic, just turn right out of the driveway at Dusty's TreeHouse, go half of a mile & park your car at Ober Gatlinburg Ski Resort & take the glassed-in Ariel Tram that will accommodate approximately 120 people & leaves & returns every 20 minutes for a spectacular bird's eye view of the area. The Ariel Tram will take you right into downtown Gatlinburg & you can also take trollies in G'urg to different parts of the area if you would like. It is very common to see bears roaming around in the area or walk right thru Dusty's TreeHouse driveway, as it is actually located in the Great Smoky Mountain National Park. Not to worry, there is a heavy wooden gate at the deck entrance for safety. Excellent Get Away
Property was just as advertised with no surprises. Very convenient to national park and other attractions. Property was spotless and everything important worked. Would definitely come back.
A stop along the way
We stopped in Gatlinburg to stay a couple nights before heading to Florida. This cabin had everything we needed and worked perfectly. The driveway is steep but manageable. And we saw bears at the deck. No complaints from MN.
Cozy, Convenient and a Great Owner
What a great location! Two miles from downtown Gatlinburg easy access to the Parkway. Dusty's Treehouse is a quaint cabin with all the amenities you would want.
We celebrated our 41st anniversary in a quiet area with a rushing stream across the street, fresh air and coffee. Uncertain what to do we contacted Geri for any ideas and recommendations. Geri provided us a list of where locals go along with the better places visitors go. Geri also recommended Margaritaville's Somewhere Else Spa for our spa day (Great choice). Geri checked all the boxes for us. We could not have been any more impressed with an owner/concierge .
We arrived Feb 24 to rain and the next day Feb 25 there was Sun, 65 degrees. I am almost sure Geri had something to do with that also. We will be sure to check out Geri's other locations for our travels. Thanks Geri!
Nice little getaway.
We were expecting a better view. We had perfect weather the weekend we went. The hot tub, heart shaped tub and the shower were all awesome. We had a good stay.
Nice weekend getaway with our pup. Property was as described. Bed comfortable. Kitchen well stocked with necessities. Location with easy access to downtown Gatlingburg, an one of the two trails you can walk your dog. Only minor things we noticed were that there were a lot of leaves outside where the hot tub was located. Also, my pillow fell down behind the bed and came back up with a lot of dust and dirt. Overall, clean despite those two things. Would stay again!
