Great Location, Nice Apartment!
Great location, nice apartment! Everything within walking distance, & the hub of public transportation is just around the corner at Jakominiplatz. A lively, bustling area with bakeries, cafes, shops & grocery. The apartment is situated just around the corner, so there's minimal traffic & crowd noise.
Don't hesitate to grab a late night Schnitzel from the street vendor. I returned more than once.
The Billa Grocery is around the corner to the left. Enter the mini mall & take the escalator down. It's open til 7 most nights.
We frequented the Sorger for breakfast & lunch. Note: the 10% off coupon at the bottom of your receipt! The cappuccino is much better here than at the Sacher Cafe. I was disappointed in the Sachertorte, too, but my collegues had some other very tasty pastries there.
The Opera House is a block away which was very convenient on a chilly night, especially when dressed more formally. Most mornings until 1pm, there's an open market just across the street.
Located at the edge of the Altstadt, everything is within walking distance. Herrengasse is open to pedestrians & tram only, & supports an array of upper end shops & the beautiful Kastner & Ohler department store. Check out the view from the top & have lunch, as well.
Tourist Info is midway down Herrengasse. The maps & schedule of events were very helpful. We walked to & up the Schlossberg, & to all the museums. If you're not up to walking, you can get a 24 hour, or multiple day transportation ticket.
The apartment is a 4th floor walk-up, but we really appreciated it. We indulged in Kaffee und Kuchen daily & returned home a bit lighter.
The bedroom mattress was firm & perfect! The sofa was a bit too firm & we recommended they add a pillow top. My sister-in-law resourcefully cushioned it with the extra duvet & slept comfortably, however.
Departure & arrival were flexible. The renter's are very nice & we appreciated their response to our 20 minute arrival notice & alternate departure arrangements. They offered their assistance, but we were in need of nothing. The apartment was clean & stocked with necessities.
Since a prepaid deposit is required, as Americans, it would have been costly to wire transfer. Fortunately, my daughter lives in Graz & was able to pay the deposit directly. I often stay at Airbnb's where PayPal is an option. Perhaps few Americans visit Graz, so there may not be a need for other options. I highly recommend that Americans do visit Graz & stay here!
I have rented this apartment while spending three weeks in Graz.It quickly felt like Home.This apartment offers everything one needs while vacationing, comfortable bed, a functional kitchen if you decide to cook, and location location location. Minutes to marktplatz for fresh foods - bakeries, meat, fruits and vegetables. Shopping and Restaurants are within minutes walking. I definitely recommend this apartment in this lovely town of Graz. The owner and son-in-law provided very good customer service. Thank You.
Convenient and Very Pleasant
The apartment was quite nice- more spacious than it looks in the pictures. Everything was clean and new. The location is great- right near the public transportation hub at Jakomini Platz, next to the Opera, and right outside the central pedestrian zone. Bakeries, supermarket, and an open-air fruit and vegetable market are all close by. The owner was helpful and responsive.
Die Wohnung war optimal für unsere Bedürfnisse, vor allem die Lage. In kürzester Zeit ist man an den wichtigen Orten im Stadtzentrum.
Die Wohnung war gut eingerichtet und ausgestattet, alles war sauber. Der Kontakt verlief reibungslos, ich kann das Appartment uneingeschränkt weiter empfehlen.
3 days in Graz
We spent three days in this cozy house. We were friendly received by Irene's brother in law, Georg. The apartment was very clean and well equipped. It is just 5-minute walk from the city centre. Some noises due to the night traffic. Very expensive car parking.
The apartment in the old town house in the center (with its historic old town / pedestrian zone) is located in a traffic situation (behind a small park). The apartment offers views of the Schlossberg (15 minute walk). Courtyard leads a balcony in the nostalgic ambiance of an old leafy courtyard. The city itself offers with its southern flair (Schanigärten, spacious parks, well-maintained bicycle paths, ...) great holiday atmosphere. Ideal location: By car (underground Gleisdorfrgasse), a 3-minute walk to Opera, 10 minutes to the Playhouse, 5 minutes to the Styrian farmers' market, a 1-minute public transport - within traditional coffee houses, restaurants, snacks, Mc... Donalds u. Many shopping opportunities. Graz and the surrounding area offer culinary and cultural highlights:. Many destinations, apple wine taverns Wine Road, Castle Road, lakes, hiking trails, spas, country exhibition etc. ID Environment.
