We are the typical family. Small children- lots of activities. I like to correspond by email so I can get to it when I can without interruption from children. Phone calls tend to play out into phone tag :)
I check email often, so I am able to get to your request fast.
We live in Florida near Jacksonville and family, and love spending time in our Asheville home when not rented. Guest after guest rave about our home, and our RATES! The house is very popular so email quickly!
The Owner purchased this chalet in 2005
Asheville is AWESOME!! Our home is away from the hustle and bustle but close to all activities- just a short scenic drive into town
We love just being there and relaxing. It is so peaceful and quiet, you can hear bunny footsteps in the woods!
This is the perfect mountain getaway. The house is beautiful and the views are breathtaking. The location is away from it all, but within reasonable distance from all the main attractions. The house was very clean and well maintained. The driveway was steep, but not as bad as some other reviews would have you believe. Honestly I was a little intimidated by the description, but again, once we got there it wasn't as bad as we thought it would be. Both of our families had a wonderful time and enjoyed staying here. We would definitely come back!!
My stay was part of an extended girls weekend. We loved the house. Everything was as advertised. As previously stated, the driveway was a bit of a challenge, but we were forewarned and took a 4WD vehicle, so had no problems.
We had just two issues: 1. There was no place to store clothing in the two smaller bedrooms. 2. The water had been shut off due to a recent snow. The handyman came out to turn the water on for us, which was great. It would have been helpful if he had also put down some ice melt around the front door. I ended up falling on the ice my first morning there and broke my ankle and a toe. It definitely detracted from my enjoyment of the trip.
We rented the cabin for a 30th birthday trip with friends. Everything was as Ashley described and we had a great time! The house was clean and provided plenty of space with nice views. Highly recommended for anyone looking to have a mountain getaway and while staying close to the downtown area.
I was impressed how secluded the property was, it felt like we had the entire mountain to ourselves. The house was comfortable with great heat, appliances, and space. The drive to Asheville was short, about 25 minutes.
The driveway is a bit rough and I am an experienced driver. Both a Corolla and Santa Fe had a lot of issues getting up the hill with luggage and passengers. I'd recommend the house require AWD or work to pave the path. The good thing is, if you can't handle the driveway, it is not very long so you can always park below it.
We had a lovely time, The house was big enough for our group and it was Beautiful! I would rebook with this couple again!
If you are looking for a beautiful place that you are never aware of your neighbors or traffic noise then this is the place for your next mountain visit. There was 4 adults and 2 teenage boys and the house worked out well for all concerned, Well furnished house with a killer deck that at night you realize that the stars are a wonderful sight that offers a pleasing break for that night cap or glass of wine.
The Zip line course in Barnardsville is just a short drive to a world class course that is worth a try.
Overall our short stay was uneventful except for the driveway that proved to be a challenge for both a front wheel drive Honda van and Prius. It is passable if you pull in and back up 50 -75 feet and get a running start. Beware that you don't want to stop as backing up will present problems that you don't want to deal with, so just CHARGE the hill
Close by to Ymca woodfin, park nearby with play equipment.
