About Thomas Estes
My wife and I set up this BNB with group gatherings in mind. I am a home re modeler, so we put in all the attractive features this space would allow. My wife is an energizer bunny and keeps the place immaculate. We set this up for our retirement and it is doing well. We rented this space 70 weekends in a row. Wow! We feel fortunate. We appreciate your considering our home for your stay in Austin.

Not an ideal vacation rental
The only good thing about this rental is that it's very clean. My first question upon checking in was "is this area safe". The house is located in a run down neighborhood with neglected houses and unkept yards. It should not be listed as a vacation rental as it's not the ideal setting. The owners actually live in the house which is supposedly converted to a duplex/townhouse but this was not stated in the description. The potential renters need to know the owners are not in a separate structure, they are in the same house. Upon checking in, we received a list of long rules of keeping the thermostat between 72 -78 degrees, what lights we had to turn off or keep on, and then there was the blue tape that denoted their personal items which we were not to touch or notes on the wall with more rules. The house was hot and we were bitten by mosquitos in the bedrooms. We felt as though we didn't have any privacy and seeing the couples pictures hanging in the hall was weird as well. Overall, we were very disappointed in our stay. We attempted to find a hotel but due to the holiday weekend everything was sold out.
I am very sorry that this person did not like our home.
This is the first person to not enjoy our home.
I always knew that we could not please everyone.
We have rented this property 70 weekends in a row without a bad review. We are very proud of our home and all to date give us reason to be proud.
I believe that her being upset about this being a town home with a common wall between the two units precipitated all other criticism about our home.
Rather than respond further to this review, I suggest that all guests read the description on all properties before booking. I do when booking myself and hope this person takes the time in the future.
