Owner/Property Manager purchased this House in 2001
Why Owner/Property Manager chose Logan Square
I bought this property to:crest this open light filled space. Also the former parking lot gave me space to create an wonderful outdoor space which is several times larger than most inter city homes.

This place was awesome! Very impressed
An architect's home- excellent place to stay
This is a really unique place. Mark Berlinski seems to be an architect and must have designed the place himself. Very nice guy. The 2-story house has a great spiral staircase, really interesting room/bathroom/kitchen designs, and it's comfortable with giant TV and stereo system. There is a courtyard with patio furniture, grill, campfire pit. It's in what looks like an abandoned warehouse under the L tracks at the end of an alley but it's actually a paradise. It's easy to get used to the train going by. We definitely recommend staying here. It's in a hipster neighborhood with coffee shops, bars, great pizza and ramen, etc.
Nothing's perfect but love this place!
The place is exactly what the pictures indicate and more. I'm somewhat spoiled in that the majority of the rentals I've had have not been owner occupied. When I end up in a place that has someone else's food in the fridge, clothes in the closet and belongings in the medicine cabinets I find it less than perfect. Place was clean and roomy though. Also, had a hard time with the train noise. Especially when trying to enjoy the fantastic courtyard.
I think for most people these two things are minor. Owner was fantastic to deal with in every way and you will not find a more roomy 2/2 anywhere in Chicago. I'm not a cat person but came to enjoy feeding one of the cats even she did try to con me into a meal every time I came or went.
Great value overall!
We had an incredible period of months at Mark’s place. Not only is it perfectly located in a very cool/hip/central spot, it is spacious and clean, well-designed and full of all the things you need to truly feel like you are in a home away from home. From the sweet stray cat to the roomy steam shower, it is truly a magical place. One thing to note: the el train is right next door. We loved the sound and the rumble; it felt unique and cool, but I’m from New York. If you are looking for constant quiet, this may not be your jam. We found it quite soothing after a while. I can’t recommend this place highly enough.
