About Ed & Yohanna Thompson
Our family of four has proudly called Mijas our second home since 2002. We first visited Mijas in 2001 when we came to visit Barcelona, Madrid, and wanted to spend some time on the coast in Andalusia. We stumbled onto Mijas entirely by chance, and have been in love with the pueblo ever since! At once remote and convenient, we find that we can relax as well as seek as much fun and excitement as we can handle. The culture of Spain is wonderful, and Mijas strikes the right balance of authenticity and accessibility.

Why Ed & Yohanna Thompson chose Mijas
Casa del Cielo had everything we'd wanted in a second home. It suits a family of four perfectly - not too big and not too small. The living accommodation is all on one level, so easy to navigate. The outdoor area is comfortable, with gorgeous views to the Mediterranean - on clear days, the view extends all the way to the Atlas Mountains in Morocco. The community at Mijas la Nueva includes two pools - one large with its own children's area, and the other a bit more cozy. There is a tennis court available to owners and guests. Mijas itself is just a 1 km walk to town, and we always enjoy an evening "paseo" (stroll) through the narrow streets among the beautifully decorated townhomes. All the modern conveniences are located within a short drive. When we first considered a second home in Spain, we created our own list of wants and needs. After viewing several available options, we found Casa del Cielo. The realization that we'd discovered a home that matched our list of the "perfect" place, we were thrilled. All these years later, we still feel exactly the same!
What makes this Villa unique

Beautiful property But car essential.
Superb property and location with breathtaking views.
Absolutely nothing to criticise at all about the property which was well equipped and perfect for our needs, however it’s location is remote from any facilities including the pool and without a car it will mean lots of walking. Both my wife and I are fit and active and found walking into town hard work (all up hill) in the summer heat.
I would thoroughly recommend this property as we had a superb holiday there. I would also recommend a car if you want to avoid hillwalking or indeed taxi fares.
Lovely, quiet, idyllic Villa
As described when we booked, fantastic views, fantastic location, fantastic pool. The villa had everything we needed. A couple of cheap tennis rackets for guests to use would have been even better as we could not find any to buy.
Thanks, Alison. We hope you were able to enjoy the many events held in the village during the summer months. Mijas always has something interesting to do no matter what time of year!
Clean and quiet place to stay
The property was a good size and well equipped. The ‘urbanisation’ was quiet and we had the pool to ourselves some days.
The walk to village was a wee bit tricky with 2 children as some parts had no pavement. If we were to return we would probably hire a car.
Relaxing week in Mijas.
The villa was in a really quit area of Mijas, with great views all around.
The villa itself was clean, tidy, and well furnished with every thing you could need, the pool's were well maintained and secluded, there were also lounges there to lie on. Parking was good as was the general cleanliness of whole place. A good walk uphill to the Mijas Peublo a bit far on hot day's, but worth it when you get there,. Overall pleasant quit location for e relaxing holl.
We're so happy to know that you enjoyed your holiday. One of the things we really enjoy about Casa del Cielo is the seclusion and relaxation at the villa, all while being within walking distance of everything Mijas Pueblo has to offer. We hope to have you back again for your next holiday!
Really nice house for four people
The Villa is really nice with a large terrace which have a stunning view. The Villa is located in Mijas La Nueva which is a really nice and well located compound. There are two pools, a smaller one(approx. 10 meters) and a large one(approx. 20 meters). There is also a well kept tennis court.
We're so glad you enjoyed your stay at Casa del Cielo. The view is a primary reason we love the villa - you can lose track of time and really relax as you look across the rolling hills and toward the Mediterranean, and the newly updated larger pool is great for cooling off.
We hope to have you back again soon! Mange tak!
Amazing, great views, clean and no problems. A great place to stay.
Our First time at this villa and we were no disappointed. All on 1 level. Everything worked and have nothing to complain about. All local towns and cities easy to get to. Can recommend both the bus and train services, all ran on time and clean. We had meals out most of the time and didn't have a bad meal. Food fresh and hot. If you want a villa to stay at, then this is it as long as you don't book our weeks. Lol.
So glad you enjoyed your time in Mijas and Casa del Cielo! We'll look forward to hosting you again for your next holiday.
