Rest and Relaxation
My family and our dear friends enjoyed a much needed and very relaxing vacation at SandPebbles. Gizelle, Jason, and the rest of the staff were very warm and welcoming. We enjoyed good food in a beautiful setting. Most days were spent by the beach or in the pool. The excursions with Jason were fun and informative. A wonderful Jamaican experience!
Beautiful - a Jamaican pearl!!!!
Beautiful property and beautiful people. Loved every minute of our stay. The staff was extremely thoughtful and considerate. We will be back!!!!!
Perfect Balance of Relaxation and Fun
I rented this home as a vacation for myself, my brothers, and two friends. From the moment we arrived in the airport to the moment we were dropped off, every detail was taken care of. In renting this property, you can choose to spend every day at the house, sitting by the beautiful pool, relaxing in the bay, or kayaking/paddle boarding to great snorkeling spots in the bay. Tyrone, Pauline, Beverly, and Chicken will quickly make this place feel like home and ensure that your stay is as comfortable as possible. Alternatively, if you’d like to see more of Jamaica, Jason will ensure that you have plenty of activities to keep you occupied and experience the people, food, and beauty of Jamaica.
Pauline’s cooking is delicious and she and Beverly will take the time to sit with you and talk through what you would like to eat, catering every meal to your particular needs and/or dietary restrictions. I would highly recommend deferring to her judgment and trying as much local cuisine as possible—you will not be disappointed. Pauline and Beverly also worked with us in ensuring that the overall food cost was within our anticipated budget of about $35 USD per person per day. They are an incredible asset to this home. Tyrone had the perfect coffee ready for us each morning and surprised us with delicious frozen drinks poolside that were perfect and always came at the exact right time. He also arranged for us each to get poolside massages within a day of our requesting them. I would highly recommend this service. Chicken was out early each morning caring for the beautiful plants around the house and gathering fresh mangoes for our breakfast. He took the time to give us a tour of the property, telling us about each plant we saw. He and Tyrone also built an incredible beachside fire for us one night. Spending time with each of the staff made the experience all the more special. Finally, Jason’s excursions and information about Jamaica were wonderful—the glistening lagoon and river tour are cannot miss trips! Payment of a 18-20% tip for staff should be in Jamaican dollars while payment for all excursions/cost of airport transport will be in U.S. dollars.
The location of this home makes it easy to get to Montego Bay or Ocho Rios. It’s in a quiet town on a private beach but close enough to two major cities to provide alternative entertainment should you need it. I would highly recommend this property and intend to make this home a regular vacation destination.
Anne, it was our pleasure having you and family/friends here with us at Sandpebbles.
It is our greatest pleasure when our guests are pleased with their stay with us on our little piece of paradise.
Thanks so much for all your kind words, and we are so happy you enjoyed your stay.
Come see us again over at SeaEsta in the future.
Our Easter vacation at Sandpebbles - April 2019
Our family of 9 spent our Easter week vacation (2 teachers and 3 school-age children among us) at Sand Pebbles. We were 2 grandparents, our 2 children and their spouses, and our 3 grandchildren, ages 5, 6 and 7. The time at Sand Pebbles was a perfect combination of relaxation and adventure!
We lived in our bathing suits the entire week! We were in and out of the pool and in the sea all day long, swimming, kayaking, snorkeling - or just enjoying a drink, be it coffee, beer (really loved the Red Stripe!) or a rum and coke! There's nothing quite so relaxing as breakfast/lunch/dinner being announced by Tyrone and wrapping yourself in a towel and sitting to a delicious, authentic Jamaican meal cooked by Pauline. The living areas and bedrooms and baths were always immaculate and shining, thanks to Beverly's constant attention. And what can I say about Chicken?!? He made sure I was supplied with mangos everyday, usually climbing the tree to get me some ripe ones each morning.
The house provides a very tranquil environment, including lots of sitting areas, so you never felt on top of one another. The bedrooms were comfortable and the baths were modern and up-to-date.
We had been concerned that we might feel awkward having the staff to take care of us but, in fact, it was very comfortable. Tyrone was always there to keep the house humming along and the meals beautifully served. We were all (well, most of us) interested in having very authentic Jamaican cuisine and Pauline saw to that! Ackee and Saltfish for breakfast - delicious!, Curried chicken and goat, banana fritters, Jerk chicken and pork, fish, and her delicious macaroni and cheese! And she always made sure the kids had her home-made chicken fingers and fish-sticks! Tyrone's ice-cream - I loved his vanilla! And he always had chocolate ice cream to go with Pauline's chocolate cake and brownies for the kids.
Jason was a delightful tour guide and driver, recommending adventures that were fun for all of our ages - such as Island Gully Falls, a fishing trip and Glistening Waters.
As my granddaughter said: "This is the best vacation, ever!" I couldn't agree more!
Our #1.... trip
Sand Pebbles Villa was a beautiful property with both pool and a beautiful beachfront. It is a picturesque low-key location custom made for relaxation. Four couples came together to celebrate birthdays and have a joint vacation. It could not have been more fun and comfortable. The staff including Ms. Pauline, who is a great cook, treated us to non-stop local cuisine. We all loved the food! Tyrone saw to our needs with a smile and that was no easy task! Beverly quietly kept things immaculate and of course Chicken who not only keeps the grounds immaculate is a real character that we will never forget! Just a fabulous staff – thank you for making our stay so special. Fishing, snorkeling, and a true local dinner out was icing on the cake. Speaking of cake, the birthday cake was wicked good! Jason was eminently patient, toting us around and giving us the local straight scoop on what is worth doing and what we should avoid. Gizelle checked in a few times and made us feel quite welcome. She was a great host. Thank you for the Jamaican Patties! A truly wonderful, memorable trip. We are already looking at booking next year. It is our “number 1”.
We stayed one week at Sandpebbles and truly had a relaxing vacation! The property is beautiful and the staff was very nice. We went to the Glistening Waters one night and that was so cool! The only other excursion we did was Island Gully Falls, which was a total blast and well worth it.
The property is about 50 miles from both Montego Bay and Ocho Rios, so you have to pretty much travel by car if you want to go anywhere. It's located on a bay and it's gated with a security guard at the gate, which made us feel safe. If you like to go for a morning run or walk, you need to go out on a busy road, otherwise you can have short walks along the beach or bay road.
If you like to relax by the beach or by the pool and don't like fighting crowds, then this is the place for you.
Sandpebbles is nestled between Ocho Rios which is 35 minutes NE of us, and Montego Bay which is 50 minutes NW. of the Villa. Here are some attractions around that guests may enjoy seeing.
Dunns River Falls
Green Grotto Caves
Greenwood Great House
Rose Hall Great House
Rafting on the Martha Bra River
