A charming 1 bedroom 1 bathroom apartment located on a very popular condominium complex. Set within well - landscaped gardens and have the convenience of a large central swimming pool ( 90 feet ) and a 24 hour reception and security. Launderette and a restaurant/bar on the property. 5 minutes walking distance to the beach, shops, banks and all Holetown amenities. Local attractions (5 minutes away): Paynes and Mullins local white sand beaches, Banks, shopping mall, supermarket, gourmet restaurants, snorkeling, wind surfing, water skiing, scuba diving, lawn tennis, 45 hole Sandy Lane club, Royal Westmoorlands golf club, Beach Club.

The property is fine, gardens and pool well maintained. Staff in the lobby helpful. Security good. The condominium needs updating , everything from the pillows to the bathroom and kitchen . No cooker. Controls on the hob invisible. Poor lighting in kitchen. Lack of utensils. Chairs falling apart. Thin towels. Cleaning products kept on the balcony. No outside dining table. No step in shower. Taps on basin leak. Other Condominiums at Golden View are much nicer to rent than this one.
Certainly our worst rental experience with VRBO or similar
The complex is around 40 years old but the complex itself is quite well maintained with attractive grounds. This unit is not well maintained. Wifi and TV are good. Some info in the listing is misleading. The supermarket was closed for 6 months prior to our arrival and only reopened half way through our stay. The gas station convenience store has some items but not adequate for self-catering.
There is no king-size bed, there are two singles. Provided toilet paper consisted of a single roll for a 4 week stay. Pantry items seem to consist of salt and pepper. There was no dish soap, pot scrubber and other kitchen items we have typically found in the other rentals.
I tried to deal directly with the owner but he expressed no interest in assisting us and referred us to local contact.
Illuminated by one bare 40w lightbulb in a 60w fixture which casts a shadow on every work surface
Can’t read burner controls on the stove due to fading and inadequate light
Inadequate supplies – dish soap, pot scrubber, measuring cups etc
Birds fly in to eat fruit. Could provide inexpensive mesh food covers.
Steak knives all fall apart; one handle broke cutting cheddar cheese
Tiles falling away from wall
Ironing board fell apart and won’t stand
Sofa strapping wore out so instead of fixing or replacing it was retro-fitted with plywood under a 3” foam cushion, so very uncomfortable
Front door sticks, so noisy and difficult to open
Four locking devices on door – only two work. Usable chain would be useful to leave door open for ventilation
Drapes came off – had been held up with masking tape. Not fixed during our stay
Two singles – shorter than a king
Huge old safe no one knows how to set combination
Two small pillows; had to ask for more.
Air conditioning (maintenance “fixed” it but said to leave it on all the time). Fixed properly after 8 days.
Door knob needs lubricating and is held in with a single screw, which works loose.
Toilet tank leaks from time to time
Cleaning buckets and mops and 2 rollaway beds stored there so not quite as pristine as in the photo. Usually cleaning supplies and implements and extra beds are stashed away out of sight
Bird excrement on balcony wall not cleaned up.
Surfaces above eye level (pictures, fridge top, light fixtures) are filthy
While some of these deficiencies are minor, taken together they indicate a very poorly maintained apartment
Golden View is a lovely apartment block with varying quality of apartment.
Our apartment left quite a lot to be desired. Good balcony, pleasant sitting room, very outdated and difficult kitchen, bed ok, AC good, bathroom poor - toilet cistern broke, sink top permanently wet and puddled.
The complex has a lovely pool and garden and very helpful and courteous concierge and other staff.
Beautiful gardens, lovely large swimming pool and good security make this an excellent complex. Each apartment varies in style and standard depending on the owner. I liked that this one had a bathtub and good wifi reception. I found some aspects of the apartment to be pretty basic, and the ac left a lot to be desired as the remote didn't work and it tended to go on and off randomly. It was difficult to know what temperature the system was set to.
There is a ceiling fan in the living room. It is a shame that there isn't also one in the bedroom.
The balcony is nice with sun loungers and chairs.
This property includes membership to the Beach House. You get the card from reception and leave a small refundable deposit. I actually preferred the pool at the apartments.
Overall, we enjoyed our stay and felt that this property was pretty good value.
Had a great experience
We just stayed at this condo for 10 days, The location is great, just a 10 minute walk from all the amenities, supermarket restaurants, beach, etc. The large pool enabled us to have a good exercise while there, and most of the day it was not crowded. The condo and the building itself itself were clean and well equipped, and we apppreciated that there was someone at the desk 24 hours. We particularly loved the large balcony overlooking the well tended and lovely grounds. The only issue we had was that though the kitchen was described as having a stove, it just had the stove top. We like to cook and so we were limited to frying.
Other then that, we had a great experience and felt this was property was good value and would definitely recommmend.

Resort was in a perfect location, the apartment offers all our requirements. Facilities was great.
Rental was clean and maintained to a high standard.
Activities, restaurants, attractions only 5 minutes walk.
Will be please to use it a second time.
Local attractions (5 minutes walking distance away): Paynes and Mullins local white sand beaches, Banks, shopping mall, supermarket, gourmet restaurants, snorkeling, wind surfing, water skiing, scuba diving, Lawn tennis, 45 hole Sandy Lane club, Royal Westmoorlands golf club, Beach club. Transport : Buses, Taxis and car hire are minutes away from your apartment. Local attractions (15 minutes away): Harrison Caves, Botancial gardens, Barbados Zoo. 5 Minutes away is the white, sandy beach of Glitter Bay and Royal Pavillion Hotels, one minute further down the bay is the Lonestar Restaurant, a popular hangout ofh English visitors. Folkestone Underwater Park is 5 minutes away. Snorkelling, sailing, scuba-diving and water-skiing are available on the beaches nearby at Glitter Bay, and the Royal Westmoreland Golf Club and David Lloyd Tennis Club and village ( where the homes of Tony Blair, Sir and Michael Vaughn) are located are ten minutes away in the hills to the East.
