Pine Cabin With Loft, 1 Bedroom, Playroom With Bunk Beds And 1 1/2 Baths
About Jennifer Ayers
We have always dreamed of having a home in Flagstaff to get out of the triple digit temperatures in Phoenix! Our dream came true over 10 years ago when we found this quaint house and it's glorious property. We feel extremely lucky and blessed to own such an amazing piece of land. Every time we visit our cabin we immediately relax and let nature rest our soul. Now that our son is in high school and very busy with his sport, we decided to open up our house and share it with likeminded folks that just want to get away and relax. We hope you enjoy this peaceful property and the surrounding forest and find your inner peace.
Jennifer Ayers purchased this Cabin in 2004
Why Jennifer Ayers chose Flagstaff
We searched for 3 years trying to find the perfect property in Flagstaff for a second home. We came across this one and fell in love right away! It has the perfect combination of being away from neighbors and commotion, but yet close to civilization. Rain Valley Ranch is on 5 acres of pine forest and borders 477 acres of trails and Picture Canyon Preserve. We have horse-friendly vinyl fencing surrounding the property as well as accommodations for up to 4 horses. It is located just 2 miles from a grocery store and the Flagstaff Mall.
What makes this Cabin unique
Come relax in the hammock or enjoy some peace and quiet on the front porch! If you are a horse owner, bring your horse with you on vacation! We have 4 outdoor paddocks with 6 foot wide covered awnings for protection from the elements. There is a fenced arena/pasture area over looking a valley below. We built a cinder sand exercise track around the 5 acres for younger or inexperienced riders/horses to trail ride.

Perfect home away from home
We are grateful for the thought and care that went into making this home away from home a true retreat! We loved being out in the woods and yet close to town. The location was perfect for our day trips to the Grand Canyon and Sedona. Everything about the home was as good as or better than advertised. The home flows so well and has great lighting. Many of us commented on how comfortable our beds were. As we love to make meals together, we were particularly impressed with how well resourced the kitchen is...everything we needed. A highlight for the six of us that stayed there was the walking trails that start just yards from the property, lead into a local nature reserve, wind along a creek past historic Native American petroglyphs and include hilly terrain and a waterfall. Our only regret is that we didn’t have more time to enjoy all that we could at this home and in this area. I guess we’ll just have to come back!
Amazing Property! Highly Recommend!
This property was gorgeous, the pictures don't do it any justice! My wife and I decided last minute we wanted to take a trip with our dogs to Flagstaff, we live in Phoenix, to enjoy the snow and let the dogs run around. I found this place and booked it almost immediately based on the photos and the reviews. The reviews I read were exactly as they said
The property was huge and well kept. The house and bathrooms were all clean, functional and they even had small travel size toiletries for you to use. Lastly, Jennifer, the point of contact, was amazing and very easy to get a hold of for any questions.
I cant wait to bring my family and friends to this place to relax and enjoy the Flagstaff weather year round!
Relaxing week long stay in the pines
This cabin in the woods was the perfect place for our family of 5 to reconnect and unplug. The cabin was clean, well stocked and private. The property was fenced with lots of pine trees and a trail along the perimeter. The main arena was not available however there was a second arena with plenty of room for our horses to roll. The outdoor stalls were spacious with deep, soft, sandy dirt and easy access to water. The best part was exploring Picture Canyon Preserve which is steps away from the property. The trails were wide and mostly flat with a variety of areas to explore as well as optional water crossings, bridges and trail loops. The area felt secluded yet was only minutes to the grocery store and Starbucks. The property owner was responsive and friendly. I would highly recommend this property (and already have) to family and friends.
My happy place
I love coming back to this place-the remoteness makes it such a beautiful escape from the Phoenix heat.
Great Property Tucked Away in the Pines!!
We had a wonderful visit to Rain Valley Ranch!!! The pictures don't even showcase how great this house, property and the views are!! Very clean place and just enough room for our family and two labs. The dogs loved the property!! Right behind the property is a great place for hiking! We saw elk during a hike and ducks in the stream. There are a few small waterfalls that you can hike to also. Jennifer (property owner) was very helpful before and during our stay. She was great with communication and response time. I would definitely recommend this property to anyone that wants to get away from it all but still be very close to town. We will definitely be back!!
Cozy and Comfortable
Mainly ended up just sleeping there as we spent most of our time in Flagstaff and sightseeing. Has all you need in the kitchen to cook up some delicious breakfast that you bring and lots of room to relax. Thanks! Would stay again if we ever needed too.
The property borders Picture Canyon Natural and Cultural Preserve. With over 477 acres of land, Picture Canyon Natural and Cultural Preserve is a great place hike, mountain bike, horseback ride, photograph the natural environment, watch wildlife, experience fall colors, and discover cultural resources, including petroglyphs.
Go star gazing at Lowell Observatory which is just 10 miles away. Evening Telescope Viewing allows you to view planets, the moon, star cluster, and more. They are open during the day as well to explore Pluto and Deep Space.
There are 3 National Monuments near the property; Sunset Crater Volcano, Wupatki Canyon and Walnut Canyon.
Sunset Crater is a short drive (about 16 miles away) and features a 34 mile scenic route. Roughly 900 years ago, the eruption of this volcano reshaped the surrounding landscape, forever changing the lives of people, plants and animals. Hike the trail through the lava flow and cinders and you’ll likely discover colorful, ruggedly dramatic geological features coexisting with twisted Ponderosa Pines and an amazing array of wildlife.
Nestled between the Painted Desert and ponderosa highlands of northern Arizona, Wupatki is a landscape of legacies. Ancient pueblos dot red-rock outcroppings across miles of prairie. Where food and water seem impossible to find, people built pueblos, raised families, farmed, traded, and thrived.
Take a hike in Walnut Canyon and see remarkable formations and ancient cliff dwellings! Come gaze across the curved canyon walls! Among the remarkable geological cliff formations of the canyon itself, the shapes of the former homes of ancient inhabitants of Walnut Canyon are easily evident. On a hike along the Rim or Island Trails you can imagine what life was like along and within Walnut Canyon while visiting actual pueblos and walking in the steps of those who came before us.
The Grand Canyon is the favorite tourist attraction! Unique combinations of geologic color and erosional forms decorate a canyon that is 277 river miles (446km) long, up to 18 miles (29km) wide, and a mile (1.6km) deep. Grand Canyon is a must see when visiting Northern Arizona!!!
