Lynn Denton purchased this Apartment in 2007
Why Lynn Denton chose Montreux
One of the very few private BnBs offering breakfast! I have SuperHost rating on another BnB website. I live in this apartment because simply it's one of the best apartments I've seen in Switzerland. It feels like a Swiss chalet inside with the warm wooden, cathedral ceilings, yet is so conveniently located in Montreux, within quick walking distance or a bus ride from everything.
What makes this Apartment unique
Some of the most amazing views of the mountains and lake imaginable. This is one of the most beautiful places in the word. You have to come see it to believe it!

Small, quiet building. Must be quiet & respectful at all times.
Swiss law does not allow showers after 10pm in apts. Surprising but true!
Please remove shoes at door and use the houseshoes I provide. Also please close the plastic curtain over the window when you shower in the bathroom.

We had a wonderful time in Montreux made even better by our stay with Lynn. The views are amazing from the balcony and bedroom window. Location is convenient to the train , bus, and Lake. Lynn made us feel at home and capped our stay off with a delicious breakfast on the balcony. We would love to come back and would definitely stay here again.
Thanks so much Jane and David. I enjoyed meeting you too and seeing such athletic and health Coloradans! I hope I'll see you back here some day...you're very welcome. Enjoy the rest of your trip! Lynn
Good, better, best.
Right from our first inquiry and for many after that Lynn was quick to respond to questions. For our stay she went way beyond expectations as a host (meeting us at the train station, starting our days with tea/coffee and breakfast, providing tips on what to do geared to our interests, etc.). Her home is very clean, the bed was most comfortable and as her photos show, the view from the deck is stunning. Adding to all this, staying in a residential neighbourhood, with quick and ranging from easy (free bus) to challenging (uphill walking) access, it was so quiet...nice to experience Montreux more like a local.
No hesitation whatsoever in recommending Lynn's BnB and exploring Montreux Riviera.
Thank you Lynn for a memorable stay.
It was just as described and very easy to get to by bus. The view was amazing.
Wonderful, clean, quiet and comfortable.
Thank you for coming Kathy. I’m so glad you enjoyed yourselves. Come in summer sometime. Montreux is really amazing then. Best, Lynn
Hello Yaniri, I'm glad you loved the beautiful house so clean with the amazing view of the lake, as promised in the description. I hope you'll come back sometime when I can be there in person to greet you myself and take care of all the details, as I usually do. As you know, I was called away unexpectedly to another country to help my elderly mother, so I had to work with my neighbors in my building to meet your needs. We all worked hard as a team to make sure the apartment was really clean and ready for you, so I'm glad you enjoyed the house. Regards, Lynn
Very quiet residental neighborhood, no traffic or other noise; very quiet, small building where all the neighbors know each other and get along. You'll really be able to relax here yet in just a few minutes get to the heart of all the things going on in Montreux, whether you're here for a music festival, the Christmas market or any of the dozens of other events and festivals always happening. Please note: NO PARKING, please do not bring a car to our building! I may be able to come get you at the train station and if I can't, I'll send you clear directions on how to get here by bus. I'll create for you free Riviera Cards that provide you with free local transportation and 50% discount to most of the area tourist sites, as well as the lovely boats that traverse the lake.
If you're a walker, I highly recommend that you walk from my place to Chateau de Chillons, the #1 historical tourist spot in all of Switzerland. That's about a 45-minute walk downhill, taking you through the 'Old Town' of Montreux and the medaeval villages of Territet, then Veytaux, where the chateau is located. It's a must-see if you're in our area.
If you're a nature lover, I'd also recommend that you take a hike in the amazing mountain gorge that is directly behind and above Montreux called the Gorges du Chauderon. You would think you're in a tropical forest in some places of the gorge by seeing the waterfalls and steep fern-covered cliffsides. I always think of Jurasic Park when I hike there in summer...it's that lush and tropical in places, a very surprising and delightful place to visit.
If you love nature but would rather take the train up the hill instead of hiking, there's a wonderful cogwheel train that goes from Montreux up the mountainside to Roches de Naye. The trainride with its views is itself worth the price, but getting to the top of the mountain with its expansive view of the lake and mountains is truly unforgettable.
Of course you can rent bikes and bike for hours in the Rhone Valley and there's a large nature preserve with wetlands for water fowl that is a wonderful place not far from Montreux for either walking or biking. It's called the Réserve des Grangettes.
