About Kent Penfield
My mother and I purchased the property from our cousins to keep this wonderful gem in the family; had been in cousin's family since 1947!! Rental buildings are not that old, they are next to the original cabin which has been renovated. I live in Rural Strafford, VT, 1.5 hours south, but love the Northeast Kingdom and Caspian Lake for a writing, or reading or relaxing or watersports getaway.

Great setup for our family - the bunkhouse being separate from the main house was super when some folks wanted to stay up later. Everyone had a great time on the water using the generously provided boats and floaties. The place was clean and well kept, and exactly what we were looking for in terms of a “camp” experience. There are some quirks, like the downstairs shower not really running hot, both bathrooms being in the bunkhouse not the main house, and a funky Wi-Fi connection. But we really loved it, enjoyed being disconnected, loved being on the water, and loved all
The games, puzzles and the private setting. The view from the house, watching sunsets over the lake from the deck or dock, and being able to bring our furry family members with us made this a vacation to remember. We would definitely come back to stay and recommend it for those looking for a family get away in a truly exceptional area of Vermont.
Fabulous Caspian Lake Location
We loved that the bunkhouse was separate from the common space--great for putting younger kids to bed before everyone else settles down. The location on the cove was great and the view of the sunsets from the deck was unbeatable! The dock and boats were perfect for kids and adults! Not too close and not too far from provisions, ice cream, yoga class, library, etc.
Beautiful Caspain Lake
Our family had a wonderful time at Capsian Lake! There are bedrooms for everyone and the kitchen is well supplied with all the cooking equipment we needed. The surrounding area has lots of interesting places to explore should you have a rainy day during your visit. Enjoy the canoe, kayaks and paddleboard on sunny days or just play in the water with the kids. There is always something to do, including taking a relaxing nap on the deck or down on the dock!
Our family has been coming to Greensboro for years, and we were thrilled to find this camp that can accommodate our ever growing family. Coming to this camp is something we look forward to all year.
There isn't a better spot on the lake.
Wonderful spot for a family reunion!
Our family, who lives all across the country, met up here for a great week! Although the week started out a bit chilly which meant not as much lake time, the fireplace was a great resource! Once it warmed up, it was great to have the lake access and boats! We were able to take advantage of much of what the region has to offer and were treated to an especially amazing sunset our last evening there!
Beautiful lake location
We had a wonderful time at Caspian Lake with our children and grandchildren! The house is very comfortable and the kitchen is well stocked with all sorts of cooking equipment. Northern Vermont is so lovely and relaxing, a step back from the busy pace of life.
