Absolutely loved this beautiful country cottage in Suffield, CT! The location is ideal. Close to shops, restaurants, the airport, Hartford and Springfield, Mass.. The house was spotless and my hosts Nancy & her husband made sure to leave an information packet about the house plus supplied the house well with all the toiletries, linens, towels, and kitchen ware. It also had terrific WiFi which worked perfectly. And to add even more, it has air conditioning supplied by individual room air conditioners. There are also a number of electric fans in the house. Even though the outside temps were in the 90’s, I was very comfortable!
The 3 bedrooms have a twin, a queen and a king bed. I slept on the queen bed which was very comfortable. The king is on the second floor where there is a second bath with a shower. The first floor bath has a tub and hand held shower. The kitchen was spotless and well appointed. Just adjacent to the kitchen is a dining area. The house is larger in real life than in the pictures. It also has a pretty rear garden and sitting area. The house faces the Suffield Town green and is in a historic district surrounded by a number of lovely old colonial homes. I am from the area near this house so the convenience of the location enabled me to easily visit family and friends.
It has a washer and drier in the cellar but I had to inform my hosts that the washer failed while trying to do a load of laundry. They were very nice and will probably replace it with a new machine shortly.
I so enjoyed staying in this home that I will likely rent it again if I make future plans to again visit the area! The James Hall Cottage, built in 1794, is a historic jewel and anyone who rents this property will leave it with a smile on their faces!
Vacation in Suffield, CT
It was a pleasure to stay at this historical cottage for a week. We were up from Florida for our grandson’s high school graduation in CT. Place was immaculate with all the necessary requirements. The owners were very pleasant and helpful! Very nice experience! Thanks, Jim and Maureen Pellegrini 🥰🎉🇺🇸
Beautiful historic home, excellent hosts
Excellent location - walk to grocery stores, restaurants etc or just take a walk down the beautiful tree lined streets in the center of town
Charming Home - the property is nicely updated but the 1700s feel still remains
Comfortable - Comfy beds, plenty of blankets and towels, excellent extras (coffee, tea, water in the fridge), friendly and helpful hosts
CLEAN - I mean spotlessly clean.
James Hall Cottage, Suffield CT - "A great place to stay"
We spent the Christmas holiday at James Hall Cottage in Suffield, CT. A perfect "Christmas in Connecticut". Nancy, our host had decorated the cottage for Holidays, it was lovely. The home is very clean and all rooms are tastefully decorated. Nancy is a very gracious host and was available to help with any of our needs. They call it a "cottage" but it is quite a spacious home. The first floor has an open concept with several conversation pits and furniture which could be easily moved to meet our needs. An electric fireplace kept the main room cozy and warm. Kitchen is updated with all modern appliances, plenty of cooking vessels, lots of dishes, glasses, utensils, etc. Also selection of coffees and teas were available along with necessities like aluminum foil and cling wrap. Beds are VERY comfortable, plenty of pillows and blankets. Two lovely bathrooms, plenty of towels, and toiletries. More than ample parking. The home is located in the historic district so the view from every room is splendid. Backyard is very cozy with a patio and fire pit. We plan to stay there again! Sincerely Keith and Eileen
