3 Bedroom 2 Bath Cabin with game room on 8 Wooded Acres
About Russell Winston
Amy and I were both born and raised here in Starkville, MS. We both attended high school at Starkville schools, then continued our education at Mississippi State. After graduating, I began my career in the automotive collision repair industry, and Amy attended The Cayce Reilly School of Massotherapy in Virginia Beach, VA. Amy has been self employed as a massage therapist for 15 years, and I now own Advanced Collision Repair in Starkville. We have 3 young children, and love to travel and discover new places. We enjoy staying in cabins and houses that we find on VRBO, and we are excited to have the opportunity to share our retreat with others.
Russell Winston purchased this Cabin in 2010
Why Russell Winston chose Starkville
The land the cabin is on first belonged to my grandfather. He sectioned off the 8 acres and gave it to his sister so she could have a place to build outside of town to get away. Louise and Kenneth Pyron built the cabin on the property in 1968 where Louise would come to paint and read, and Kenneth would come to work on woodworking projects in the adjacent shop. When Louise and Kenneth passed away the cabin went through several hands, until 2010 when Amy and I had the chance to purchase it to reclaim and restore it for what the property was originally intended. We love this property and are excited to share this peaceful retreat with others.

Great weekend in the woods!
A rustic cabin with fireplace in a beautiful spot in Mississippi! We'll be back for sure.
Loved the place and enjoyed the fireplace with our friends. Definitely plan on staying again.
Starkville, MS getaway
We needed a place in Starkville to stay the weekend of my son’s wedding. The cabin was very conveniently located close to our wedding venue. It was decorated very nicely & had a warm comfortable environment. We enjoyed our short stay & would highly recommend to anyone visiting the Starkville, MS area.
Third time and it’s still a charm
We have stayed here 3 times now, and always like it a lot.
Well appointed and comfortable. The setting is perfect after a long day of SEC Football. We just wished we had more time to enjoy the font porch glider and back deck. It was very relaxing and a short drive to campus.
If you are in need of rest and relaxation this is the place ; I will stay again
Our cabin is located on 8 wooded acres, and is a perfect setting for a weekend of relaxation. We are located 3 miles from the campus of Mississippi State University, and 3 miles from the Mississippi Horse Park. We are just far enough out of town to not see another person if you like, but still close enough to be in the middle of any events that Starkville has to offer with in 5 minutes.
