Why Michael Byrnes chose Bristol
Growing up in Bristol we always admired Weetamoe Farm and the main house was one of the nicer and more historic properties in the area. Built in 1811 is was initially a federal style six room home with a hip roof. Weetamoe Farm was named after King Philip's sister-in-law, Princess Weetamoe. (see Nathaniel Philbrick's The Mayflower). The property is still a working farm with goats, cows, ducks and chickens. We are la mere 5 minute walk along a tree shaded path to beautiful Mount Hope Bay. The Cottage is about 1 mile to Roger Williams University and less than two miles to the Historic Bristol Waterfront.
What makes this Cottage unique
The cottage was refurbished in mid-2015 with all the modern amenities. . It was a caretaker's cottage and is about 150 years old. Located on a quiet tree shaded property and bordering on the historic Mount Hope Farm it is situated for peaceful walks to the waterfront and through fields and along wooded trails. On RI Route 136 it is about half way between Providence and Newport and and hour to Boston.

Great get away
The property was just as advertised. The house had all the amenities that we needed and more. Beds were very comfortable and the house was very clean and updated.
I will recommend this to all of our friends. The nearby area is lovely and had great charm and still bustling for late summer.
Charming farm cottage
Lovely farm cottage surprisingly close to attractions yet removed from urban noise. Clean, well organized, and well appointed. Would stay there again.
Long weekend getaway
Great place. Super friendly hosts. Great location.
The cottage is better than expected. Beautiful setting and even prettier than the pictures. Close to shops, restaurants, bars and the waterfront. Plenty of charm and room for the kids too. We loved our stay and are looking forward to booking again!
Hosts were welcoming and the property is amazing! Our family enjoyed all Bristol had to offer.
A perfect family retreat
Traveling with a mother-in-law and two young boys, my husband and I searched for a place that would meet all our needs. And we certainly found it.
The swings entertained the little ones when the adults needed a breather. The first-floor shower and bedroom offered convenience and privacy for my MIL.
As for me, being a short walk from the secluded beach was simply perfect. Our hosts made us feel at home with fresh berries and an invitation to visit the goats and chickens.
This was our third visit to Bristol and my boys have already asked when we will be coming back.
