About Robert Donigan
I am a real estate sales person working for a major brokerage with a concentration in Brooklyn. I also sell in Manhattan and Queens. I am also a serious musician (drums) and always find time to play. My wife Jan is a copywriter with a major ad agency in Manhattan and has been in Brooklyn since 1983. I moved here in 1991 and need only 1 more year to be accepted as a real Brooklynite (a joke but not really). As much as we like to travel we hate to leave Brooklyn.
Robert Donigan purchased this Apartment in 2003
Why Robert Donigan chose Park Slope
Jan and I bought a house here so our son could go to a superb public school. Ironically he needed a small class and ended up going to a private school next door to our house. No one wanted this house because it is next to a school. Now no one cares if there is a school next door. The house also lets us rent out the top 2 floors, we live on the next 2 and the VRBO rental is the garden apartment.
What makes this Apartment unique
The previous owner Mildred lived here for over 50 years. She did not pull any of the original details out which was great for us but left us with a lot of repairs and leaks. We've made may improvements to enhance what is here. People here take pride in their homes and the area is considered one of the best places to live in the US. We love the diversity and freedom you have here. Everyone is different and no one cares what you do or where you come from. Paradise.

Beautiful apartment, excellent location, nice owners!
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in Brooklyn, and a major part of that was having this well-located, beautiful space to call home base. Easy to walk to all types of eateries, located close to several subway station, and excellent proximity to Prospect Park. We spent our last couple of hours in the private backyard, which was a really peaceful green space surrounded by beautiful aged brick walls. We’d definitely recommend this apartment!
Awesome review. Thanks for staying. Hope to see you again.
Everything was great, especially the host!
The place was fantastic. Convenient location. Beds (including sofa bed) were very comfortable. There was the added bonus of the garden, which was great during such hot weather, and it was beautifully kept!
The host stole the show though. Robert gave us plenty of recommendations, none of which disappointed. And his introduction to the property, on our arrival, made us comfortable in using all the amenities and gave us added confidence in getting around the surrounding area.
I would recommend this property to anyone visiting New York. I’ve stayed in Manhattan before and always thought that was a must, Brooklyn proved me wrong!
Lovely Brooklyn garden apartment
This apartment is in a very nice, safe area, half a block from Prospect Park. The décor is modern and pleasing, and we liked that the original charm of the building has also remained. The apartment was clean and the beds and pillows were very comfortable (which should go without saying, but it's not always the case!). Bob was welcoming but then gave us space to visit with our family and do our thing. We would definitely stay here again!
Michelle. Thanks for the great review. Love to have you guys stay anytime. Hope you come back. Thx again.
We had a wonderful 5-night stay at this clean, comfortable and spacious property! Robert is an outstanding host! Upon arrival, he gave us a tour of the property and he was responsive to any questions we had during our stay. He even checked in with us midway during our stay to see how we were doing.
The apartment had everything to make our stay comfortable: a living room with a lot of seating, large bedroom, and a spacious well-stocked kitchen. Robert also stocked the apartment with paper goods, soap, shampoo, etc. So nice not to have to start our vacation shopping for all of that! The beds were very comfortable (yes, the pullout is very comfy!) We also enjoyed the garden area out back for morning coffee.
The property is a light-filled garden unit in a historic Brooklyn Brownstone in beautiful Park Slope. The location is great. Plenty of restaurants and grocery stores within walking distance. It is near the beautiful Prospect Park. It is convenient to downtown Brooklyn and it is easy to get to Manhatten via the subway. (We actually walked to Manhatten via the Brooklyn Bridge. If you like to walk and have a nice day, I highly recommend it.) We are so glad we stayed here for our trip to NYC. I would love to stay here again! Thanks, Robert
Wow. Thanks for the great review. Loved having you guys here. Hope to see you again. Thx
Delightful garden apartment in charming neighborhood
This Park Slope apartment was the perfect place to rest after a busy day of sight seeing. The subway was an easy walk from here, and the streets lined with historic brownstone homes are just gorgeous. While our visit to NY was designed to take in the sights and sounds of the city, we loved experiencing the local flavor of living life in Brooklyn. We couldn't have found a more perfect spot. Our host was very informative throughout the process, and we would go back in a heartbeat.
Great having you here. Think of us again if you come back to Brooklyn.
Magical. A stylish oasis of peace in the heart of a truly great New York neighbourhood
Just beautiful. If authentic Brooklyn Brownstones are your thing. Wonderful area. So glad we stayed here.
Brooklyn has come into its own in the last 10 years or so. Lots to do here. World class museums, restaurants, parks. Very easy to get around. You won't need a car here but if you do there are cabs and car services. Subways close by. One could stay in Brooklyn for a week and find enough interesting things to do. 15 minutes by subway to Manhattan. What's not to love?
