Fun on the bayou
My wife and I stayed at this house during Spring Break with our two sons (ages 11 & 9) and my parents. The boys loved fishing from the dock, catching blue crabs and kayaking in the bayou. The house was very clean and well stocked with the needed amenities. The elevator was a great help hauling the suitcases upstairs (and the boys thoroughly enjoyed it). Eating dinner on the deck every night, surrounded by all the natural beauty, was a real treat.
We are happy you enjoyed the house and the beauty of area.
This place has the most amazing sunsets!
Just when you think you've witnessed the most spectacular sunset the next one is even more beautiful! This house is in a very quiet neighborhood with a lovely view of Keys Bayou. Most mornings while drinking our coffee either on the dock or from the deck we were entertained by a flock of diving pelicans, some sea gulls, the resident nesting ospreys and occasionally joined by a blue heron or two. The house was very clean, nicely furnished and has one of the best equipped kitchens we've stayed in. We like to cook where ever we vacation and Lisa has a well stocked kitchen and bar! Location Location Location!! Convenient to grocery, beaches (Johnson's Beach was our favorite!), boat launch, best fish market (Perdido Bay Seafood....Make sure you try the red dip!), state parks, hiking, biking.....did I miss anything? We were a little too early for fishing and crabbing from the dock but had the weather and timing been different there is no doubt we would have been catching both. This was our first trip to this part of Florida and it was absolutely beautiful! If you like quiet on the water with beautiful sunset views you will LOVE Keys Bayou. As one of the neighbors said "best kept secret and a bit of paradise!"
Thanks so much for the great review. We are excited you enjoyed Kees Bayou and all it has to offer. You and your family were great guests, we hope to see you again in the future.
Tropical Storm Cindy
Even though it passed through while we were there, we still enjoyed ourselves. We will be back.
We spent a month here and it is an absolute hidden gem. The house was so comfortable and homey. The dogs loved it and felt right at home immediately. We all loved sitting out on the deck any time of the day and just watching everything going on in the bayou. Wildlife is beautiful here. The fish literally jump out of the water, you can catch king blue crab off the dock, the osprey fish right out front and stay in the trees around the house....There is a a pelican that liked to hang out on the dock and we named him Pete :) The home has everything you could need and then some. It is beautifully decorated, but not in a way you are afraid to relax and enjoy it. Lisa was amazing to deal with and we have shared this piece of paradise with friends and family. Perdido Key is such a beautiful place, and this was a wonderful experience.
Few insights to the house....there is an elevator, which was super handy with groceries. Cable seemed to go out every night about the same time for a bit. Not a huge deal as it was usually around sunset and you won't believe the sunset in Perdido Key. Unbelievable. I have been told by locals that it is the norm with the cable company! There is a Walmart not from from the house really. Dollar General even closer. Lots of good places to eat, Lillians Pizza has some good food. Pedros just over the bridge to the right is AMAZING if you like Mexican.
It was one the best places we have ever stayed, and again Lisa was amazing to deal with. If you get the chance to stay here.....DO IT!
I am glad you enjoyed your stay at our home. Thanks for being such a nice person to work with.
Perfect for our family.
Beautiful sunsets, dolphin swimming around, seabirds everywhere. Very relaxing home that is fully stocked to include kayaks. We all loved it and wished we could stay longer.
I am so happy you all enjoyed the house. All the best to you and your family.
Home Away From Home!
This house was amazing, beautiful, and felt like home. We were able to go to the beach come back and relax, take a nap for awhile and go watch the sunset on the water. The Hermans are by far the best owners. They are very kind and gracious hosts to let my family stay in their home. We loved it there and we will be back to stay again. Thank you for letting us spend time i, your wonderful home. We hope whoever is reading this review, this house is comfortable and it's a quiet area. The best part is you don't have thousands of people above you or below in a condo or neighbors that are crazy and wild. They are very helpful and gracious hosts also. They welcome you with open arms. If you want a home away from home this is the place to be. I recommend this place to anyone.
