This beautiful 18th century house is completely peaceful and secluded, described by guests a 'mini paradise'. Many guests have said the house is much better in real life than the description and photos. Please look at our own website to see more pictures.The spacious interior allows large groups to spend a holiday together without feeling crowded. Inside the house the furnishings are to a very high standard with a Lacanche oven and American style fridge freezers. There is a wide screen TV, HiFi stereo system, WiFi Internet and a large selection of books and videos.
Outside there are two separate patios for eating and relaxation. There is a large (16m x 7m) swimming pool with heating and an electric cover. Adjacent is a pool house which provides additional accommodation with comfortable seating.There is a large amount of equipment in the kitchen perfect for guests who cook as a hobby. The surroundings of the property are laid to lawns and terraces with shade provided by native Oak trees. There are also substantial recreational facilities including swings, slides, trampoline with safety net, and a football goal. Local chefs are available to help with cooking (for a fee). Babysitting can be arranged on request.
Locally there is a rich cultural history and plenty for those who want to explore. There are multiple historic sites close by including the Market town of Uzes and well as the Roman city and amphitheatre at and museums Nimes.
The aerial walkway is great fun there are two different ones at 5km in Bagard and 15km at Anduze both are great fun and can accommodate children from approximately four years of age. Adults can take advantage of the 'black run' high in the trees which represents quite a challenge.
Canoeing from Collias takes you right underneath the historic Pont de Gard along the river Gard and you are picked up after about 7 km and driven back to your car. A stop off for rock jumping into the river is a must. There are cafes at the bridge and you can stop for lunch or ice cream. On the way to or from you can sample the delight of the Haribo sweet museum and shop.There is a children's amusement park next to the museum.
The nearest beach is 'La Grande Motte'; 10km of gently sloping sandy beach. The beach cafes offer excellent food and you can rent sunbeds and pedals. There is municipal parking next to the dunes. St Marie de la Mere and the Camargue National Park are easily reached for a day trip and the scenery and pink flamingos are amazing.
Historic Sites and adventures.: The mediaeval towns of Vezenobres and Uzes are close. Uzes and Anduze have wonderful markets. You can take the steam train from Anduze and visit the Bambousarie on the way. There many museums; Lavander; Haribo (sweets) Bee keeping, Motorbikes. The caves at Trabuc are fantastic and for the brave hearted it is possible to book a guided underground cave safari. Nimes and Arles both have Roman amphitheatres where live concerts are held. There is a theatre in Ales and there are music festivals held in Uzes, Quissac and Nimes. In the summer festivals bulls run through the streets chased by the local lads. Wine tasting is a must....the local Rose is particularly good and not expensive.
For the energetic there is paragliding at Seynes, rafting in the Cevenne and the Ardeche,
Go kart in Ales (National Circuit-the largest in France.)There is a motor rally car circuit approximately 5km away where National meetings are held.
Fishing is available both for fun and for serious fishermen in the local rivers. Hunting is possible in season by arrangement.
Hiking, Bikes, Horse riding,Spa Resort: The Cevennes national Park offer fabulous opportunities for cycling/ Mountain biking, hiking and pony trekking either locally or in the natural park of the cam argue where pink flamingos fly overhead. There are bridle ways and cycle paths close to the house. There are some bikes at the house and more can be hired in Ales.
There is a fumade or natural spring spa resort in a town close by where treatments can be booked to promote health and well-being. Golf is available at Nimes and Uzes.
In the Winter skiing is possible in the Cevennes at Mount Lozere.
For those who prefer to simply chill out and relax the house and surrounding land is absolutely tranquil.It is possible to stay in the house all week and not feel bored. Perfect for those clients who want to leave the stress of busy lives behind them.

There is a fabulous Auberge close to the house which always has the most superb menu. Try out the eight course gastronomique menu if you dare!! Very reasonably priced.
