This English Tudor home was built in 1870, and has been lovingly updated and restored. When relaxing in this home, it feels as if you are away at a quiet country retreat, as it is set on a very private 3/4 acre landscape filled with old growth trees. However, the action isn't far away, as it is only a 3 block walk to restaurants and shops in downtown Highland Park, and the train to downtown Chicago. Highland Park is a picturesque town on the North Shore of Lake Michigan, 20 miles from downtown Chicago. It has long been one of the premiere destinations for relaxation and beauty, and is the perfect place to stroll or bike ride to admire the many historic mansions. Ravinia Music Festival is 2 miles away, and brings big headline musicians to Highland Park all summer long, for fun evenings of concerts, wine, and picnics under the stars. Lake Michigan is only a few blocks away, and within 2 miles there is a great beach perfect for swimming and building sand castles, complete with showers and concessions. Downtown Chicago is easily accessible by car or train, with the train stop only 3 blocks from our home.
