This cozy 3-bedroom cottage offers tranquil lakeside living in summer & winter!
About PATRICIA ROHOLT
I am a Minnesota native now living in California. I purchased this house in 2004 and completely renovated the outdoor living spaces and kitchen to create this warm and inviting home. I have traveled all over the US and to many countries around the world and find that nothing beats this home and this town especially in the summer months! I love to return to Minnesota each summer to enjoy my home and to visit family and friends. It is my goal to retire here sometime in the future - until then, I am happy to share my home with fellow travelers.

Why PATRICIA ROHOLT chose Excelsior
This location and home is my "dream home". I grew up in Bemidji, Minnesota on the lake and for me, nothing beats watching the boats come and go in the bay. I love the morning sunrise and evening sunsets and watching the sparkling water throughout the day! I enjoy having access to the town of Excelsior which has become a very active city with many restaurants, shops, and entertainment venues all within walking distance. The access to biking and walking trails, summer farmer's and flea market all add to the charm. In the winter months, guests will enjoy ice fishing and skating, snow mobiliing, cross country skiing, and the vibrant town of Excelsior.
What makes this House unique
I love the kitchen in this home as it has a great view of the lake and the active Port of Excelsior. The upper balcony off the master suite is a great place to relax and watch the boats come and go. Nothing beats morning coffee on the front garden patio and I have a wonderful perennial flower garden! Dunn Brothers coffee is just a block away as are a variety of stores for all kinds of shopping.

Great Spot for a Getaway
This is a great house in a fabulous location! Great floor plan for gathering and playing games. Highly recommended.
Great stay in Excelsior
This property worked great for our weekend - walking distance to everything we wanted to do, comfortable, well equipped - loved it!
Lake Minnetonka Getaway
Charming home with great access to Lake Minnetonka and downtown Excelsior. We enjoyed our stay!
Perfect location. Beautiful decks, balconies, and hot tub
My husband and our 4 teenage kids had a great time.
GREAT in-town location, comfortable but requires TLC
Upon arrival check-in was a breeze, but NO parking permits as listed, for a street that requires them if you want to park close by. Had to go to city hall to purchase a couple. No big deal on price ($5/ea) just aggravation and time lost. Luckily space behind garage for boat/trailer and a “pay to dock” public pier across the street. Also found a nice marina (Bayside) a short distance that allowed us to launch for our stay for $20.
Only one set of house keys (supposed to be 2) for 4 days was a bit inconvenient since we often went in separate directions.
Location was ideal for walking to town, fireworks on the lake, bars, restaurants, the 4th of July 10K “Firecracker Run”, kayak rental, beach etc. If you are there for a holiday weekend expect some noise and crowds, as you will be right in the mix of things. Busy but not overwhelming. All in all, a fun location.
House has cute curb appeal, comfortable quirky “cottage” interior, tidy but lacks a little in the cleanliness department. Maybe we got the housekeeper on a bad day as other reviews didnt mention a problem. Arrived to a full dishwasher with a note “dishes are clean” , but they had to be put away. Refrigerator needed a wiping down inside, pulled a couple dirty dishes from the cabinet, areas that hadn’t been dusted in quite awhile, and a toilet that got overlooked. Not the worst but not the best, could use some attention. Bath towels were at a minimum and NO outdoor towels provided. Suggest you bring your own especially if you will be spending time on/in the water.
Owner was responsive when I needed the new WIFI password, parking permit situation etc. I notified and sent pictures to her at the end of our visit about the cleanliness issues, which she said she addressed with her local host immediately.
Great location, interesting layout, lacking in privacy
Access to Lake Minnetonka and many dining options great. Property is a little dated: outside steps uneven, retaining wall showing signs of deterioration. Lack of privacy inside, half wall for small bedroom limits evening conversation in living dining area; no door on stairs to king suite reduces privacy of that space. And as other reviewers have noted, no access to laundry facilities. As long as one is prepared for its limitations , this is a fine option for lake.
This historic home is located just one block off the main street of downtown Excelsior, Minnesota. It is within a 5-minute walk to over a dozen restaurants and bars with live music, dancing, and nightlife at your fingertips. Walk to the grocery store, library, movie theatre, and beach!
The house is across the street from the port of Excelsior where you can take cruises on several yachts, including the historic Minnehaha. Hiking/biking trails that go for miles are a short distance away. The home is also close to the Old Log Cabin Theater and Chanhassen Dinner Theater, along with other cultural events in close proximity.
This home is a tranquil oasis and a perfect home base for lake life & adventures in winter or summer!
