Why Ellon Jarvis chose Maple Heights-Lake Desire
It made sense to buy it when it finally came up for sale. As mentioned, it's right next door, and we loved the property. Lots of work and love went into making the cottage what it is today.

Elon and Scott provide a relaxing, peaceful setting. The cottage is super clean with all the amenities you can ever want. Elon anticipates your needs and is thoughtful with all of her kind gestures. The welcome was the best we have ever received at a VRBO. So very thoughtful!!!!
Ellon and Scott had the cottage fixed so cutely. There were so many nice surprises awaiting for us that made our stay so comfortable and welcoming. Great hosts!
A Runner's Paradise
My wife and I were set to travel to the Seattle area, as I was scheduled to run a 100K trail race on Memorial Day weekend. This was a destination race, as we were coming from Nebraska to enjoy the great Northwest. We wanted someplace close to the race and we found it in this awesome little cabin owned by Scott and Ellon.
Ellon was so accommodating, allowing my wife to get in early while I was still running the trail race. After finishing 62 miles of trails, all I could think of was getting back to the cabin and resting these tired old bones! The place was fantastic and the hosts were so friendly. We loved Bart the dog and he joined us on the dock to watch us swim and soak in the amazing views of Mt. Rainier.
The amenities at the cabin were truly special and we felt so at home. It was such a great place to return to after spending the day in downtown Seattle. One last rowboat adventure on Spring Lake and it was time to say goodbye. We truly hope to be back again and stay at this great place. Thank you Scott, Ellon and Bart for making our experience a great one!
The views are unbelievable and the hiking trails fantastic.
Ellon and Scott thought of every imaginable thing you may need or want. The cottage has everything you could want or need. Extremely comfortable and cozy. We were greeted with an amazing tray of appetizers and a great Washington wine. We are still amazed at everything they thought of for our enjoyment and comfort from bathrobes and slippers to a little evening sip of adult refreshments. They were available if you needed but never intrusive.
If we could give them a 10 rating we would. This place and the owners are amazing!!
We absolutely love Laura and Jerry! They were the perfect guests-and we were really sad when they had to leave. They were so respectful of the cottage and you would never know they had a black lab and a kitty. Not a hair was found!
Any host would be lucky to have them as guests. So much fun!
Lovely rental with very accommodating hosts
Super clean, gorgeous views, nearby hiking and above and beyond amenities. Quiet peaceful lake with views of Mount Rainier. Indoor and outdoor steps are steep and not for everyone. Hosts are welcoming and friendly. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would come back anytime.
Thanks Lorrie and Bruce, for your lovely review. Would love to have you back any time!
A weekend to recharge
The cozy cabin is on a peaceful lake. The hosts provided several extras that made me feel welcome: basket with cookies, fruit and wine, mini bottles of alcohol and even english muffins.
7.9 miles (15 minutes) from Lake Wilderness Lodge. Perfect location if you are attending a function there!
