Luxurious Riverfront Cottage Close to Bantam and Washington
About Kathy Winn
My husband and I are from New Orleans, and move to NYC 2 years ago with our teenage son and 3 dogs. My husband is originally from Louisiana and I'm from Southern California. Our life together has taken us from Dallas TX, to New Orleans and now NYC. We love to travel, entertain, cook, spend time with friends, and are intentional in making the most out of everywhere we live. Our motto seems to be to 'bloom where we're planted'.

Why Kathy Winn chose Washington
Living in NYC can be intense! We needed a place to relax, recharge, let our son be a boy and have a place for our pups to have room to play. We pinch ourselves every time we come out. It is SO quiet - all you hear is the river running and the wind in the trees. There's wildlife, peace and quiet. There are no neighbors in view - you feel like you're a million miles away from it all.... a slice of heaven on earth.
What makes this House unique
Even though it's only 70 miles (less than 2 hours) from Manhattan, it feels like you're worlds away. And, even though you feel like you're worlds away, you have the very best of Litchfield County within a few miles - fabulous restaurants, boutique and antique shopping, skiing, apple picking, quaint New England villages, hiking, sightseeing. It's really the best of everything.

Nice weekend away with family
This was a great weekend away for our family! We made great use of the fire pit and patio as well as the beautiful yard. We didn't spend much time inside at all. Everything was clean and the beds were very conformable. The only challenge was that there was not a table big enough for our family of 8 to sit at comfortably. It was nice to be out of the hustle and bustle and relax in nature.
Beautiful House, Perfect location
Not much more to be said. Highly recommended!
We loved the charming Federal-style Farmhouse
Charming Federal-style Farmhouse from 17th century that has been meticulously restored with great historic details. The living room contains a beautiful Steinway grand piano. The traditional living rooms are complemented with modern bathrooms with state-of-the-art appliances. The farmhouse is next to a gushing stream that could be heard from the bedrooms at night and surrounded by beautifully gardens.
Thank you so much for your kind review. We look forward to hosting you and your family again!
