Awesome stay by Sunset Beach!

  • 5 of 5

We stayed here for 1.5 weeks and loved it. It's a small space but it's strategically designed to have everything you can imagine needing for a comfortable stay on the North Shore. Kitchenette is a great add to be able to cook some meals and the outdoor patio is great to hangout. Walkable to beaches, Ted's Bakery, and bike-distance to the grocery store Foodland. Bus stop right outside makes it easy to explore farther if you don't have bikes/car. We loved staying here!

A slice or paradise

  • 5 of 5

Wow! Small but cozy, perfect for just one or a couple. Showering outside created a nice unexpected connection with nature that I looked forward to every day. Several comments I read mentioned road noise, I'm a light sleeper and didn't have a problem, the traffic becoming practically nonexistent after a certain hour. Kristal and Jason were wonderful hosts, providing everything you could possibly need, even offering the use of their grill, beach chairs and towels, and providing locally grown star fruit for us to try. The location is within easy walking distance to a beautiful beach, which I took advantage of every day that I was there. Ted's Bakery, yum yum, is also close by. The lunch hour is crazy, so go early or wait until later in the day. I can't think of one thing that I would change about this delightful little cottage, that felt like home away from home.

Nice Little Garden Spot

  • 5 of 5

This small rental was perfect for a three week stay, particularly the location. I was looking for a spot where I wouldn't have to get up every morning and drive to get to where I really wanted to be; the seven mile stretch of North Shore beaches fronting many of the world's best waves. This fit the bill perfectly. It's a short stroll to the long curving bay with the break Velzyland in the middle and about a 15 minute walk to Sunset Beach. Almost everyday I walked a loop to Velzyland, then along the beach to Sunset and back along the bike path next to Kam Hwy.

Everything you need is within a few miles; Ted's bakery, Foodland grocery, garlic shrimp trucks (ha) and Haleiwa--about seven miles away--has shops and restaurants from end to end.

The rental itself is small but would be fine for a couple, with plenty of greenery and a private feel, even though there are homes around it. Kristal, the landlady, couldn't have been more accommodating. I enjoyed everyday of my stay.

Wonderful beach bungalow right next to world class beaches, restaurants and snorkeling!!!

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I stayed in this peaceful little slice of paradise for almost two weeks and had the MOST amazing time! Not only is the Attaway family so kind and welcoming (including their adorable dog Ranger) but the location can't be beat! Right across the street from Sunset Beach with some really great snorkeling at Sharks Cove & Three Tables. There is a grocery store right down the street along with MANY choices for restaurants and fun little food trucks. Its the perfect distance away from the hustle and bustle of Honolulu but close enough to everything you may need or want, you really get to experience the "true" Hawaii feeling. The bungalow itself is great, comes with a kitchenette that has everything you could ever need to prep and cook, the bed is VERY comfy and we found the queen had plenty of room for both my husband and I to sleep great at night. The Attaway's provide any beach gear you may need including: towels, chairs, and snorkeling equipment! The A/C works great and gives some nice soothing background noise while you sleep. The outdoor shower was so cool, I hated coming back to my indoor shower at home where I couldn't see the palm trees sway while I washed sand out of my hair! We really enjoyed spending time with this wonderful family and had a few great nights with wine on the porch getting to know them and the North Shore area. If you have ANY questions about the island Kristal or Jason will have some answers and suggestions for you! I can hardly describe what an amazing time we had while staying here and we are counting down the days until we get to come back to this beautiful island of Oahu, we will certainly be staying here again next time we do! Thanks again for everything :)

Perfect getaway for the north shore

  • 4 of 5

This is a great little spot to get away if you plan on spending time on the north shore. It is walking distance to teds bakery and sunset beach both popular spots for good reason! The rental itself is very small which worked out ok for us as we had all our luggage stolen from our rental car and had very little clothes left. We utilized the large sink to wash our clothes and hung them to dry every night so we always had something clean to wear. They have everything you need to cook a small meal. We felt the bed was very comfortable and everything was kept clean. We also enjoyed the outdoor shower. The owners are very welcoming and accommodating... which we especially appreciated in light of our situation. The only heads up I would give someone is while we were there a gekko was in the rental.. the first night we woke to hear it making noises was a little frightening as we were not sure what it was until we saw him. The only nuisance was the droppings... we found them on our bed and belongings. I don't think there is anything that could be done about that... part of being out in the country. Overall we enjoyed staying here and would stay again without hesitation.
