Casa Dorato is a stone built restored old farmhouse of the traditional style of this area of the Marche, Italy. It has been fully renovated by the present owners and is ideal for that self catering romantic holiday. It is built on the side of a gently sloping hill, surrounded by oak, acacia and walnut trees. Set in about an acre of ground amidst small farms and vineyards this Italian villa is not remote and yet it is completely private and is not overlooked. The bedrooms at Casa Dorato contain 2 with King sized beds and 2 with twin beds, the large bedrooms also have room for an extra single bed if necessary. All the bedrooms have plenty of storage space with wardrobes draws, Casa Dorato has 2 large lounges with lots of seating and is ideal for 2 families sharing or for separating the generations. A smart Television and Wi-Fi and a smart box are available for that evening in, with lots of films for all ages available or for keeping it touch with home. The pool is particularly beautiful and large with plenty of area surrounding to sunbathe eat and enjoy, it is completely private and not overlooked. Why Kevin / Tricia Garrett chose Macerata

Fell in love immediately with the house and area when I first visited although thick snow covered the area in the January. Everybody was so friendly and the village life philosophy grabbed me right away.

Guestbook comments from the owner

Dear Kevin

Wonderful to hear from you. We are so sorry about the delay in responding - we've had various guests and have intended to get back to you many times before finally doing so! The tap was no problem as we had such a fabulous time at the villa. The location was stunning and the people in the village extremely friendly. We would be delighted to visit again and will be in touch directly

. Do keep in touch.

Lovely villa in a beautiful setting

  • 5 of 5

The villa is set in a private and peaceful location with stunning views all around. The pool is great and the children loved the fountain. The surrounding area is very beautiful with lots of great towns to explore. The local restaurants are great value and the food is very good. The owner (Kevin) has a huge number of films which are great for raining days and evenings in. Kevin was extremely friendly and helpful and told us everything we needed to know and answered all our questions. We had a lovely week at Casa Dorato and would definitely recommend it! Many thanks.

Nice house with pool. Beautiful view. The only inconvenient is the kitchen on upstairs. Very peaceful. We enjoyed our stay.

Stunning views, beautiful pool, and very tranquil

  • 5 of 5

Casa Dorato is set in the most beautiful location, midway between two hilltop villages. The house has a lovely garden with lawn, paved areas, and a fantastic swimming pool. The views from the property are absolutely astounding, and the house and gardens are not overlooked at all.

The only sounds you are likely to hear other than the local wildlife are the clanging of the sheep bells as the flock is moved down the hillside and then back up again in the evening - it truly is a peaceful and beautiful location.

The house itself is well equipped with a good kitchen and plenty of space. There were just two of us staying, but there are plenty of bedrooms and two bathrooms, so it could easily accommodate two families. The layout of the property is great with a bathroom and two bedrooms upstairs, as is the kitchen and lounge, and a bathroom and two bedrooms downstairs with a larger lounge. The kitchen is well-equipped and on the few occasions we didn't eat in one of the many local restaurants we used it to the full! The upstairs lounge has a large flat screen TV with many films available on hard drive if that's your thing, or you can borrow one of the many books that are there or argue your way through a board game or two! Casa Dorato also has decent speed wi-fi which was welcome.

The swimming pool is a welcome feature as it's a very good size and there were plenty of sunbeds and umbrellas surrounding it. Perfect for whiling the day away with a good book and a cold beer.

Kevin, the owner, was very helpful and answered all of our many questions promptly and fully. All in all, the process of booking was very easy, and the holiday we had extremely enjoyable.

If you're looking to get away from the hustle and bustle of Italy and relax in the countryside without being completely isolated then you could do no better than Casa Dorato. Highly recommended. We hope to visit again next year.

Nice place in Marche

  • 5 of 5

Relaxed house in an easy-going part of Italy - near enough to villages, restaurant. It's a schlep to the coast - but with a nice pool and lovely views, why bother. Not many tourists around here (+ive point) but people are friendly.

At least one car is essential, two even better.

Can be recommended for a large-ish family.

Beautifull villa and location

  • 5 of 5

This was our second visit to Le Marche within two years. The villa was as described and faultless. We found the split level accommodation ideal for our family of six, including two grandparents and two grandchildren. The pool was a great success. We particularly enjoyed the views of the countryside. The nearby villages of Penna San Giovanni and Monte San Martino were particularly attractive as was the larger town of Sarnano with its excellent market. Access to the mountains was within half an hours drive and the coast within about one hour. There is a host of information on the area available at the villa and three mountain bikes. We hope to return.

The most relaxing week I'd had in ages!

  • 5 of 5

I enjoyed a familiy holiday at the house in May this year. The first things that struck me on arrival were the total peace and quiet, the lovely views and the clean, fragrant air.

The house itself is gorgeous; 'modern-oldy worldy' in style. It's split over two levels and has a really homely feel. Everywhere was clean, tidy and well maintained. The kitchen was well stocked with crockery and utensils, which was great because we spent the half the week cooking!

The pool is lovely and big enought to have a really good swim, though when we went in May, the water was very cold. The area around the pool is quite expansive with both shaded and sunny spots, so you can stay out of the sun if you need to. We had a BBQ by the pool one of the evenings which was lovely.

If you like architecture, you'll love it round here. the countryside is dotted with picturesque hamlets and walled towns with winding cobbled streets. There are lots of places to get great food and even though we cooked at home, we ate out a lot as well. This was my first time in italy and I hadn't realised how spectacular authentic Italian food really is.

Overall, it was a fantasic week for the whole family and we are planning to return in 2011.
