|Minimum Stay||7 nights|
At Villa Suzanne you can begin your day with a stunning sunrise viewed from the spacious terrace with panoramic views of the crystal blue ocean, Dawn Beach and the island of Saint Barth’s. During the day you can take a dip in our spacious pool or stroll down to Dawn Beach, one of the Caribbean's most beautiful beaches, or perhaps snorkel on its spectacular coral reefs.
Dawn Beach is located on the quiet side of St Maarten so you really feel like you are on a true Caribbean Island; some actually call it the Caribbean side of the Island.
You can easily travel to some of the most desirable beaches on the Island, such as Anse Marcel, Palm Beach or Friars Bay, all within 20 minutes.
In the evening Villa Suzanne turns magical with its soft lighting on the terraces and in the pool. Dine on the terrace and enjoy the gentle trade winds and the swaying palm trees. If you choose privacy or solitude you can retreat to the pergola and enjoy the gardens and exotic flora; perhaps, read a book or just relax.
Our terraces provide some truly beautiful views of the ocean and at night the lights on the hillside are lovely.
There are many fine restaurants available within a 5-minute drive or you can go to Grand Case, the epicurean capitol of the Caribbean, with many world class restaurants just 25 minutes away.
Villa Suzanne was designed by Francois Jaulin, a very talented and highly respected architect on island. He was instrumental in selecting all the materials and design of the custom made doors, windows, and cabinets all which were made on Island by a premier cabinet maker. He also selected the porcelain tile used throughout the villa, along with the travertine design patterns used in the bathrooms. His attention to detail was extraordinary and the results are a design that will stand the test of time with old world charm.
When you first enter Villa Suzanne you will walk through an arched door framing the view of the spacious pool and the beautiful Atlantic Ocean. Beyond the entrance way is the spacious living room/dining room. From the living room there is a 26-foot glass door that slides into the wall which opens up to the outside terrace and pool with breathtaking ocean views. The living area of the villa has beautiful furnishings that are comfortable and have a Caribbean vibe.
The kitchen has great views of the water, Dawn Beach and St Barth’s. There is plenty of granite counter space, plenty of cabinets, and it is fully equipped with dishes, serving pieces, pots, pans and glassware. Appliances include refrigerator/freezer/icemaker, dishwasher, microwave, oven, and a gas cook top located on the island.
You have your choice to dine outside on the terrace enjoying the beautiful views and listening to the breaking waves or inside with a more formal setting where there is a long table that can seat 8-10 people comfortably. There is an excellent selection of table cloths and napkins to give that elegant touch.
The outside terrace has ample room and furniture to enjoy the beautiful Caribbean weather. Whether you want to swim in the pool, relax in one of our 8 chaise lounges and get a tan or sit on one of the many plantation chairs under the covered terrace out of the sun to read or catch a nap.
The villa has 4 spacious bedrooms. Each bedroom has a king size bed, built in closet space, 2 safes, ceiling fans and an ensuite bathroom. The bedrooms are air conditioned, and for those who do not like ac we have found by opening the slats on the custom doors and windows, it allows the trade winds to keep you very comfortable. The bathrooms are spacious with travertine on the floors, shower and walls. Every bedroom has amazing views of the ocean.
Catherine (our housekeeper) is a true treasure; her sunny disposition and beautiful smile are a great way to begin the day. Many of our guests want to take her home. She’s there Monday through Saturday to tidy up and is very helpful and knowledgeable about the Island.
Catherine has been asked to prepare local cuisine dinners which guests have really enjoyed. We highly recommend it but be warned it’s a lot of food so prepare to have leftovers for several days.
Upon your arrival on island, we have someone meet you at your car rental agency to show you back to the villa. If you want to pick up a few groceries he will bring you to the super market and wait for you and then take you to the Villa. There is also a grocery delivery service so you can arrange to have some provisions brought to the villa. They even put the groceries away for you!
Catherine will be at the villa to greet you, show you around the villa, answer any questions you may have and give you the keys and remotes.
There’s a generator that kicks in automatically in case there are power outages.
A gardener and pool service are also provided.

I keep busy with Villa Suzanne!
Villa Suzanne was designed by Francois Jaulin, a very well respected and talented architect on the island. He said the location was 'magical'.
We also were very fortunate to have a highly regarded
builder who typically was involved with bigger projects on the island. He was able to build our home using poured concrete, no cinder blocks here!
The uniqueness to our home is not only does it have beautiful views, but it is ony a 3-4 minute walk to Dawn Beach.
Four couples from cold Illinois rented this villa for a week. It was fabulous! It was everything the pictures on VRBO showed and then some. Their are no words to explain the view from the pool and patio. It is breathtaking. The four king bedrooms and ensuites were beautiful. The beds were very comfortable and we appreciated the air conditioning in each bedroom. When you opened the doors to the bedrooms you could see the ocean, and feel a beautiful breeze. The living area was tastefully done. The kitchen was lovely and had a nice assortment of dishes, glasses, cookware, spices, paper products, etc. We cooked most of our meals and there was plenty of room for the four ladies to navigate. The villa was immaculate thanks to Catherine, our new friend! She is a joy to work with and is very accomodating to any wishes you may have. We shared a lot of laughs with her. She was very helpful when we had questions or wanted her opinion on what beaches to visit or where to eat. She was truly a beautiful person inside and out.
The owners were very easy to work with and prompt in correspondence.
We would all stay here again and our group of eight would like to thank Susan and John for sharing their blessings with us!

EVERYTHING was AMAZING!
Thank you so much for giving everything we expected and more. The location, the property and the house were perfect for the four couples who enjoyed it last week. Of course Catherine and Big Daddy were extremely helpful with everything we needed. We walked to the beach many days, enjoyed the spa and restaurant at The Westin, went to Anguilla for a day, had dinner at Grand Case, spent an afternoon at the beach bar and a night at the piano bar as well. The warm breeze was so comforting and kept us a good temperature all week. If any of your guests ever ask about taxi service we strongly recommend Farid at Big Time Taxi as he definitely was very efficient and priced right.
Our family and friends (4 adults, 10 year old, 9 year old & 6 year old) have recently returned from a week at the Villa. This was our first experience with HomeAway, so we were cautiously optimistic about what to expect. Needless to say, Villa Suzanne has set the bar very high. The house is exactly as it appears in the photos. The breeze and the sounds of the ocean permeate through the entire house; the views from the main living area are unforgettable.
As promised, Ken met us at the airport and welcomed us just as he would welcome his own. We were thankful for the escort to the house, as some roads were very steep and narrow; literally breathtaking ;) Catherine greeted us at the home and it was like she knew us for a lifetime. She was very helpful, but never got in the way. Our pre-ordered groceries were delivered as promised (although some brands were swapped out) and the week was ours to enjoy.
We rented a car and saw as much as we could. Daniel’s by the Sea was our favorite dinner. Our second favorite was Canoa’s, which is across the street from Daniel’s (Both are a 10 minute drive from the house). We went to Maho Beach, saw the planes land, and had lunch (must do for young children); we spent a day at Loterie Farm, rented a cabana and completed the 1400 foot hike to Pic Paradis (Highly recommended). We rented a catamaran (PYC - The Mojito) and sailed to Tintmarre & Pinel Island; bad weather and rough seas killed our spirit on the way out (some fell ill), but it was still an enjoyable experience……Had the weather cooperated, I think it would have been an awesome day. We went to Phillipsburg and Marigot (climbed up to Fort Louis), and enjoyed local bakeries, grocery stores and restaurants.
All that remains are our memories and some photos (lots of photos), but we are grateful to the Lydons for sharing their paradise………A most enjoyable stay for sure…….
As a family of 6 who almost always stays in a VRBO property whenever we travel as well as having owned 2 VRBO properties myself, I have pretty exacting standards for my lodgings! Villa Suzanne hit it out of the park. The whole experience could not have gone smoother from start to finish-not one little hiccup. And then the property itself was truly exceptional. Beautiful, clean, comfortable, and fully stocked with everything we needed (right down to pool floats and a crib for our littlest one)! With four kids, we don't want to bring more than absolutely necessary plus we require a good kitchen set-up! And the the location!! Amazing views from the kitchen, living room and pool deck. Being on the Atlantic side ensured a constant breeze; i.e. it wasn't sweltering hot and no mosquitoes. Dawn Beach was indeed a close walk but we prefer to beach-hop in the Caribbean and Villa Suzanne was well-positioned for us to do just that. The final "cherry on top" were the owners and the housekeeper Catherine. Wonderful wonderful people who are truly excited about St. Martin and want you to have the best experience possible. And we did!
Our stay at Villa Suzanne was Wonderful! It was a surprise for my husband's birthday to be going to St. Martin & then meeting our friends in Atlanta to bring them with us was the topping.
The house was everything it was in the pictures and more! Sitting at the table by the pool and looking out at the ocean/ beach/ boats every day was everything a vacation should be, and the sounds of the surf totally soothed your soul. Our friends spend a lot of time on beach vacations, staying in condos, etc. and were totally impressed with how well-appointed the kitchen was, because we all love to cook. We ate in about half of the nights and every breakfast and found everything we needed to prepare delicious meals. We felt like part of the rich and famous, staying at such a luxurious home.
Clair and Homere were great and we really appreciated their services.
We can't say enough good things about St. Martin, either. Everyone was very friendly, we never met anyone less than that. The food we ate out was amazing. I had curried goat and oxtail stew for lunch (both because I couldn't decide, so the waitress brought me 1/2 order of each) in Marigot at a sidewalk cafe. We ate at Busbys/ Daniels the first night which set the tone for excellent meals to follow. Had lunch there and then Van's birthday dinner at Big Fish which was fabulous. Shopping at Carrefour was a great experience--wish we had stores like that here: fresh whole fish, great vegetables, hard to find ingredients, but even the tiny local stores were good. The wine selection and price was amazing, the cheeses were excellent and we had fresh baguettes every day. The villa was so lovely and special that some nights we stayed at home and just had shrimp and salad with cheese and baguettes and wine for dinner. Perfect.
It's easy to get around in St. Martin and we explored everywhere. Dawn Beach is just a walk down the road and is beautiful. Orient Beach, Grand Case and Friar's Beach are also wonderful. We checked when there were no cruise ships in town so we could visit Phillipsburg without dealing with crowds.
The total ambiance of the house and the island made this one of our more memorable vacations.
Thank you both for sharing such a wonderful place as Villa Suzanne. We would tell anyone going to St. Martin to stay there--it doesn't get any better than that.
We just returned from our third stay at the amazing Villa Suzanne. We cannot say enough great things about the owners John and Susan and their incredible villa. We brought our cousins with us for the first time and they were completely amazed and impressed with the accommodations Villa Suzanne offers. Everything about the house is perfect, the bedrooms and bathrooms are spacious, the kitchen is fully equipped with everything you could possibly need. The open living room which leads out to the beautiful private pool make you never want to leave the property. Catherine is amazing and so helpful. We always love to visit the places John and Susan recommend. Our personal favorite is going to Palm Beach, where you can enjoy an amazing lunch and personal service from your lounge chair. We have many restaurants that we have returned to, such as Piazza Pascal and Izi, also Mama's Pizza right around the corner from the villa is great!. If you are planning on visiting St Martin this is the only place to stay! Check out the pictures, though it is even more beautiful in person. Many thanks to Susan and John for another wonderful visit, we truly appreciate you sharing your home with us. We will most definitely be back again soon!
