Blanding is surrounded by more National parks and state monuments than anywhere else in the country and this home is the perfect base camp for all of your adventures in the southeastern Utah/ southwestern Colorado region. Our historic home is located in the heart of Blanding; it has 2 bedrooms and 1 bathroom. There is a queen size bed in one bedroom, the other bedroom has a full size bed, and the living room has a queen size pull out sofa bed. There is also a pack-n-play fold out crib for your convenience. The kitchen is fully equipped with cookware, dishes, utensils, coffee pot, microwave, toaster, etc... Everything you need to make your own meals. There is also a barbecue grill outside. At one end of the main living area you'll find a couch, recliner, TV and DVD player, and at the other end is the dining table. The large utility room has a washer and dryer, plus enough room for a couple of bicycles, hunting or climbing gear, or anything else you need extra room to store inside during your stay. Very clean and comfortable with lots of updates, yet it retains many of the features you love to see in old homes. We have big plans for the yard but it is currently a work in progress.

What makes this Cottage unique
The cottage was the home of Albert R. Lyman, one of the founders of Blanding. One of his many roles was as a shoe maker, and his cobbler shop is still in the backyard!

Perfect parks hub.
We had a lovely stay. It was a great place to come back to after exploring parks in both Bluff and Moab. Thank you!
Did the trick
Blanding was a midway point between two days of driving for us, so we were quite happy to find this little cottage available. It was a serviceable and comfortable place for an overnight.
The bedrooms were small but well furnished, and everything about the house was as advertised. Internet was fast, which one doesn't always get in small towns; that was a plus.
The house is on a wide street not far from the town center, but was quiet. I'd have to say that it's not the most prosperous-looking part of town (there's a trailer park across the street), but we didn't feel the least bit unsafe. We didn't venture out much because this was just an overnight, but I'd gladly rent this place again for a longer stay.
A great base camp for exploring the area.
My daughter and I stayed here while exploring the Bears Ears National Monument, Canyon Lands National Park, Natural Bridges, and other outdoor attractions. We returned each night to a comfortable and well equipped small house - it was perfect for our base camp!
cozy and comfortable
The cottage was clean and cozy and comfortable. The kitchen was well stocked with needed items and we enjoyed our stay very much.
Everything was very clean and nice. We had a great time!
Cute! Everything we needed was there! The washer and dryer were a major plus.
It is cozy but had everything we needed. Nice neighborhood and close to several things we wanted to do. Lynn at the visitor center very helpful. The owner checked in with us to make sure we didn't have any problems, very thoughtful. Great house for a great vacation! Would highly recommend!
