Why Loretta chose Winter Park

I fell in love with the house the first time I was looking for a vacation home property in Winter Park. It is close to town (walkable, 0.5 mi) yet is incredibly private, close to the National Forest. THere is something very peaceful about watching the snow fall on Vasquez Creek or in summer falling asleep listening to the gurgling Creek. I enjoy taking walks through the forest or talking ski tours from the house in winter. Of course the best is the hot tub on the private deck overlooking the creek!

Guestbook comments from the owner

It was great. Snow was super, really cold temps, though - a little rough for the kids. We enjoyed the house a lot. Kids loved the loft and the bunk beds. Hot tub and sauna were a bonus with the cold.We were happy to be able to seat everyone at the table. The views of the trees out the windows is beautiful It was a great place for us. My brothers and I have fond memories of WP from the ski train and Eskimo Ski Club, so we enjoyed sharing WP with our kids. Thank you for making it possible. Sincerely, Jen

Great vacation home!

  • 5 of 5

I highly recommend this property to big and small groups alike. We stayed there with my parents-in-law and our seven children. The layout of this very clean, well-set-up and maintained home was very accomodating for a large group. The three levels of decks provided additional outdoor spaces. The house was very easy access off of Route 40, a couple of minutes from Winter Park and Fraser. The owner was great to communicate with and very flexible with check in and check out times -- very accomdating, wanting us to have a good weekend. The property has neighbors but feels very private. There is a fast flowing creek that is very delicious to listen to, and not so close that any child will accidentally fall into it (as long as the children don't go wandering). The hot tub was large and very clean. The kitchen was well appointed, the dining and living rooms comfortable and the beds very comfortable with soft pillows and clean, warm, cozy covers. Unfortunately we couldn't get the sauna to work, but that may have been our lack of knowledge! We drove to Elitch gardens, which was around 90mins away; the next day we went up to Grand Lake, about 45 mins away. There was a very nice Safeway 4.5 miles away in Fraser. We enjoyed picturesque walking trails a few minutes from the front door. All-in-all, a clean, comfortable, well-located, peaceful property that I would be glad to visit again. Thanks, Loretta!

Ski home, right on the shuttle line

  • 5 of 5

Highlights of this great house include - skiing home, perfect location on the shuttle bus line, miles of hiking and snow mobile trails, wooded setting where you barely see your neighbors out of the windows, huge garage for storing gear, great kitchen, updated baths, convenient sleeping for 10 people. Absolutely a great ski house. We stayed here with 4 kids, 4 parents and 2 grandparents. The kitchen is perfect for making meals for a large group. We built a fire every evening after skiing home from the bottom of Vasquez (fine for 6 year olds - 70+). We hiked on the miles of trails and great sledding is just up the road. The owner is so easy to work with and flexible. We just had a great time and will definitely be back. And the hot tub on the deck is wonderful!!

Perfect for a large family getaway

  • 5 of 5

This place is perfect for a large group to rent! We absolutely loved it! The downstairs bedroom is perfect for kids. The bus for the slope stops just down the road from the driveway and downtown WinterPark is very close. The owner was really easy to work with and quick to respond. We would definitely stay here again!

Perfect in Every Way!!

  • 5 of 5

We couldn't have been happier with this beautiful home that the owner shared with us for a skiing weekend. The Central location allowed us to enjoy skiing at Granby Ranch as well as Winter Park Resort. The hot tub was a big hit with the Grandkids....and with Grandpa! The owner was great to work with and very accommodating. We will want to stay again in future outings and would recommend this property to anyone.

Great rental for skiing vacation

  • 5 of 5

Group of 2 families+ had great skiing weekend at this house. The house is very conveniently located for skiing and going out/shopping in Winter Park and Fraser. The shuttle stops nearly at the door. Despite its central location it is very quiet and private. The house has 4 bedrooms plus a loft that sleeps additional people, which we weren't expecting and allowed us to spread out and give everyone the space they needed. The kitchen and dinning area worked perfectly for a group of 9; there were plenty of towels and all other amenities. The feature we liked most was the hot tub in the back deck. Perhaps the only drawback of this property is that there is no cellphone service (ATT and T-mobile). There is a line phone for local calls only, which meant we were not reachable while in the house. We would definitely come back.

Winter ski vacation

  • 2 of 5

Great location to Winter Park shopping and restaurants, close to ski resort. We drove our own car to ski so we didn't use the shuttle.

However, we found this home to be outdated and overpriced for the condition, kitchen extremely small and spiral staircase to lower level very small and hard to maneuver up and down stairs. The old box TV and remotes didn't work well (guide button didn't work), something that could be easily updated. Had a hard time finding supplies like paper towels, extra towels in kitchen (there were only 2), toilet paper, and bed linens (no extra pillow cases for extra pillows). We had to put ski boots in unheated garage so boots were very cold the next day. We had 2 families with 4 kids and it was crowded.
