About Robin Turell
This is a photo of Robin and Ruby. (Robin is in the blue dress). We have lived on the llama ranch, Figment Ranch, (where Gerrie's Place is) for over 30 years. Robin is a Retired Special Education Teacher and Ruby is a retired Salesman.
Why Robin Turell chose Cypress
Gerrie's Place is real. There really is a Gerrie. (Ruby's daughter) Gerrie was born in Denton Texas on April 22, 1966. She was a good fun-loving kid who loved sports. She graduated Magna Cum Laude from her high school. This enabled her to earn a scholarship to Texas Tech and Southwest Texas to play fast pitch softball. Here she also graduated Magna Cum Laude. After Gerrie graduated college, she taught Adaptive Physical Education (this is Physical Education for special needs students.) While teaching, Gerrie started having symptoms of Multiple Sclerosis (MS). Once her symptoms did not allow her to teach PE any longer, she moved from teaching PE to teaching Special Needs Students in the classroom. Gerrie’s MS symptoms finally got the better of her. She retired from teaching and moved to the ranch in 2004. A special home, with ADA specs – the Americans with Disabilities Act, was built for Gerrie and she lived here independently for 13 years. When she needed more care than we could provide, she moved to a local Nursing Home where she resides now and is still continuing her battle with MS. Gerrie loved music and artwork. One of her collections was of the artist named Patrick Nagel. In fact, hanging here you will see many paintings from Gerrie’s collection. We have also provided a book about Patrick Nagel for you to read while here. It can be found in the living room in the credenza. Gerrie was also a big fan of James Dean. You will see some of his photographs in here as well. Inside Gerrie's Place you will see some pictures of her. They are located in the Binder in the main room. Gerrie is more than happy to share her home with you!

This was a really fun property. Robin responded quickly and was very friendly and helpful. Her place was very clean and well stocked. It was nice and quiet, a nice escape. Thanks for a fun break.
Delightful, Cozy Comfort
This is a compact unit that, while small, has every comfort you could possibly want. Although it does not have a full stove, the appliances there satisfy every need eg: microwave, convection oven, hot plate, coffeemaker etc. It even has a washer/dryer with detergent supplied! The bedroom can be closed off from the rest of the house via pocket doors and the bed is extremely comfortable. The bathroom is spacious and well supplied with whatever is needed. The unit is handicapped accessible with a ramp leading to the door and a bathroom that can fit a wheelchair. There is a "smart" tv in the living area as well as in the bedroom with every station imaginable. As a single woman of a certain age, I felt safe and secure. The farm next door has many delightful animals roaming about and they add to the wonderful atmosphere. It is not far from places to eat and is much much better than a hotel room. It was a treat to stay there and I hope tp be back.
Great country property with all the convenience of the city!
We had a wonderful stay at Gerrie’s Place. It’s location is convenient for most things in the North Houston area. The owners have thought of every convenience to make for a comfortable stay. We enjoyed a tour of their farm, and animal watching from the front porch while sipping our coffee. It’s clean, quiet, and just a cute little cottage! An added bonus is that it is dog-friendly, so we didn’t have board our dog-baby.
We enjoyed having you all!
Hopefully we will see you again if you move back!
If not, you will always have a place to stay!
Have a wonderful holiday season.

One of a kind!! Great!!
Gerrie’s Place is a wonderful experience. It’s convenient to everything but it’s also secluded. Very peaceful atmosphere. Fresh eggs. Loved and bonded with the animals. Fantastic hosts. There is a gift shop on the property that has very unique items including llama rugs that are beautiful. Highly recommend this lovely place. Would definitely return.
We thoroughly enjoyed hosting you, Charlie, and Toby. Everyone already misses y'all!
Good luck with everything ...... hope to see you soon! Let's have dinner! :)
