Furnished One bedroom Apartment with panoramic views from private deck
About Stephanie Thatcher
With my husband and two children, we moved up to Stanfordville 31 years ago. We fell in love with this area and knew it was where we wanted to raise our family. We've enjoyed many years of hosting large annual parties at our home with our relatives looking forward to travelling north for a getaway to the country. With the lack of hotels in this area of Northern Dutchess, our apartment served as a welcome retreat for many of our out-of-town family members. In 2016, I retired after 39+ years with IBM and now enjoy the time to focus on other interests, impromptu getaways, and managing Harley's Hideaway.

Why Stephanie Thatcher chose Stanfordville
This part of the Hudson Valley is beautiful and it's a hidden gem. Large hotels are not nearby so staying in a private, updated apartment that is close to equestrian events, antiques, bike trails, events in Rhinebeck or other nearby towns are all appealing reasons for guests travelling in this area. Our guests have said we are a good "base" location. Many guests like to have the option to prepare their own foods instead of eating out for all meals.
What makes this Apartment unique
The views from the deck are panoramic. Guests can enjoy morning tranquility sipping coffee on the private deck that overlooks the Buttercup Audubon Sanctuary. Relax with no set time for meals (you prepare all meals at your convenience). We renovated the apartment in 2015 and have refurbished furniture purchased from our local stores. The apartment is clean, comfortable and updated. Our guests have commented how great the views are as well as the bird watching. Our accommodations will make our guests feel welcome. Great restaurants are nearby.

This is a sweet little hideaway apartment up in the trees surrounded by birds and trees. We were welcomed with a plate of cookies and coffee and creamer. The place was spotless, the bed really comfortable. I would highly recommend!
delightful quick getaway or potential longer stay
We stayed for a quick refreshing getaway - PERFECT! What a beautiful location, on the edge of the Audobon sanctuary! Would stay longer next time and get local produce and fruits to cook. Thanks!
So glad you enjoyed your stay and we look forward to you coming back again.
Stephanie was very welcoming to me when I arrived. Cookies were very much appreciated!
I was attending a painting workshop at the Omega Institute which was about a 20 min drive. A little scary coming back at night but I loved it here! The furnishings were perfect. Thanks Stephanie and Art for making my stay so enjoyable! 😊
Thank you, Frances, for your thoughtful review. We're glad you chose our Hideaway while you attended the Omega, and wish you the best as you start to build your dream home in Tennessee.
This was the perfect getaway for us. The Hideaway was far enough away to get away, but close enough to shop and see the sights. The Hideaway was sparkling clean and stocked with many of those small items you need but can't remember to pack. Great place with Stephanie and Art as your hosts, many thanks from Scott and Jeanne.
The place was very clean and Stephanie was more than accommodating. Would definitely recommend.
Very clean and well appointed. Everything you need with all the comforts one could ask for. Peaceful and tranquil setting. An attentive and available host that gives you space. I would highly recommend this property without hesitation.
