This unusual style wooden lodge home, is a marvellous place to stay. Plenty of room inside and out. The garden is great for your dogs, as it is secure and has plenty of interest.
Placed just a ten minute drive from Druridge bay beach, and with places like Kielder water, and Berwick upon Tweed only an hours drive away, all the great places of Northumberland, in this area, are all in easy reach.
Even though the property in within an estate, it is very quiet, and we saw many house martins, and swallows darting around the properties.
Property clean and well kitted out. Would recommend this to family and friends.
Had a great week!
I booked this property as a surprise break for my husband's 50th Birthday. The communication with the owner was excellent throughout the booking process and she was extremely helpful, suggesting places to eat and to visit as we were new to the area. Nothing was too much trouble.
The property itself was beautiful, well maintained, spotlessly clean and huge. Our stay was extremely comfortable and everything we could have asked for was provided. The garden was a lovely, peaceful haven and we really felt like we had 'got away from it all' for three days, which was exactly what we wished for.
Highly recommended stay, we will be booking again in the near future.
We booked the Lodge for a family Xmas away from all the Hussel and bussel and it did not disappoint. Lovely kitchen area which was great to sit around the large table just chatting without the distraction of the TV. 10 minute walk to the Beach which was great for the dog. Would highly recommend this well appointed Lodge for those wishing to chill out in this beautiful part of the country will definitely be back in the summer.
What can I say! The lodge is fabulous. Clean, tidy, white crisp bed linen and exceptional comfort. My friend and I are on our last night of four. We really don't want to leave. My little dog Darcy has also had a fantastic time running along the beach. Although the weather has been awful we have walked and we had a visit to the market and watched the Remembrance Day Parade in Amble. I would recommend the Lodge to anyone and everyone. Fantastic stay.
The digs were as all the other reviews stated, a real home from home. Our 2 year old twins were spoiled for choice with the amount of games and equipment on offer. The local beach is absolutely gorgeous and the closest town Amble was great, three nice restaurants. Whilst the house is in the middle of a housing estate, the location was fab for accessing Walkworth, Alnwick, Alnmouth, etc. You definitely need a car to get around. Would absolutely recommend as the house was so well equipped and was spotlessly clean. A brilliant holiday was had by all three generations!
We all really enjoyed our stay at the lodge. It was all we hoped for and more.
It is on the edge of a housing estate which is odd but not a problem.
It is just like a home from home.
Could not get the tv to work all week but that was a bonus to me.
It dose look as if the price has gone up a lot for the same time next year though.
1 mile from Druridge Bay Beach-huge, clean and often deserted even in summer it is a perfect child's beach. Great for sandcastles, safe bathing and rock pools at low tide. You can walk for miles along its length with great views of Coquet Island and it's lighthouse. We are across the road from Druridge Bay Country Park which has a lake with many birds and lovely walks. Watersports are available and there is a cafe and 2 children's play areas.
We are 3 miles from Amble with it's harbour, market various shops and new indoor swimming pool with child's pool. We are a short drive to Warkworth with it's beautiful medieval castle, river walks and quirky shops. Half an hour brings you to Alnwick with it's award winning gardens and Harry Potter castle. Bamburgh, Seahouses, Craster and Holy Island are approx 30 miles north of us with good road links
