About the property

Accomodation for smaller parties, 4, 6, and up to 10 guests

Les Chenes provides very comfortable accomodation for up to 10 guests and comes complete with a beautiful pool. Created from a three hundred year old stone barn it has been totally renovated retaining a traditional farmhouse theme, with stone walls and oak beams all under a clay tile roof.

Les Chenes is located in La Roudie, a small hamlet in Lot, set in wonderful rural countryside. It has 6 acres of secluded oak/chestnut woodlands and beautifully maintained gardens all of which is fenced to provide a completely safe, tranquil, child friendly environment.

Les Chenes has been newly furnished throughout with traditional 'farmhouse' Ikea furniture. The ground floor has a superbly equipped large kitchen with plenty of storage space, large larder, electric oven, gas hob, dishwasher, washing machine, fridge, freezer and microwave. Adjoining the kitchen is a spacious dining room with an oak beamed ceiling. Leading from the dining room is a very large comfortably furnished lounge with doors leading to the garden and pool. The lounge is equipped with a satellite tv, cd and dvd players.

An open plan staircase from the dining room rises over two further floors which lead to three bedrooms on the first floor, two double bedrooms which have en-suite bathrooms and one twin bedroom. On the second floor, two more bedrooms are located, one double and one twin bedroom. These rooms are separated by a well equipped shower room with wash basin and wc. On the ground floor there is a large tiled wet room complete with shower, wash basin and wc.

In the garden, an attractive and very inviting 10m x 5m swimming pool awaits you, it is complete with a solar shower, a large paved surround and elevated timber decked sun terrace. There is a BBQ and covered area for table tennis, pool and snooker. Boules, tennis, badminton, football and cricket are available on site or you can relax in in the large secluded garden. The list is endless if you want to visit historic sites, gardens, vineyards and markets. Canoeing, kayaking, cycle rides, fishing, woodland walks and nature treks, are also possible for active families. Adequate and safe car parking is available within the grounds. Guests have their own private gated access driveway to the Gite.

Nearby in Auniac, just walking distance away is an auberge for great meals! Gourdon, the nearest town, is an attractive medieval centre of stone buildings. It has a selection of good restaurants, banks and shops. Lively open air markets and music festivals are regularly held.

Fantastic family holiday accommodation in a perfect location.

  • 5 of 5

We had a weeks holiday in August in the property along with our two daughters, their husbands and four grandchildren. We found the property perfect for our family. The property offered everything we needed to accommodate us all. The fact that each family had their own bathroom with an extra one on the ground floor was a bonus which we really appreciated. There was more than enough outdoor play equipment to keep the grandchildren occupied for the whole holiday whilst inside everything we needed was there. There was more than enough seating areas for the whole group to sit down together both inside and outside. The house was equipped with everything you could possible need right down to a potty! The only thing we feel could be improved on is a larger pan and some scissors. Cooking pasta for 10 proved a challenge but not one that will stop us returning in the very near future. Looking forward to our next holiday. Chris and Jackie Little.

Très belle propriété

  • 5 of 5

  • 3 of 5

Owner's Response: We believe that all our guests enjoyed their stay at Les Chenes during the 2013 season, this is supported by our feedback. Sadly this guest failed to understand the process of paying a deposit upon confirmation of booking and the balance prior to commencement. They insisted that they pay all the holiday monies upon arrival despite receiveing booking conditions prior to paying their deposit. We think it was a genuine misunderstanding and nothing else.
