About Mrs Kirstey Beckett

Mum of two. Joseph and Lilly and wife to Jim. We love Westgate and my husband has been going there since he was a child. It seemed inevitable that we would buy here one day! Lovely beaches. The best sunset this side of the Caribbean.

Mrs Kirstey Beckett purchased this house in 2007

Fabulous Holiday

  • 5 of 5

We rented the house as a base to spend Christmas visiting family in the area and were happily surprised at how wonderful the house was. A lovely warm family feel to it and the kids fell in love with staying there. It was warm and clean and the owners made us feel very welcome and had put a tree up for the kids. Definitely will be our first choice for family visits from now on. The kids said it was their best christmas ever, thank you so much xx

Owner's Response: Thank you so much for your lovely review of our holiday home. I am glad you found it comfortable and if the children were happy then it your life a little easier! I must admit the tree was new and I thought it was lovely - I nearly swapped it for my own tree! I hope you will visit again. Kind regards Kirstey and Jim

Good sized property in a nice location.

Had an enjoyable stay. House was loverly and warm with plenty of space. Everything we need was provided.

Only negative is a rubbish shower but bath was fine. Plus no WiFi.

Would use again if in the area.

Owner's Response: Hi there Many thanks for your review. We are having a new bathroom fitted in January 2017 so hopefully there will be an improvement! In terms of the wifi it is something I have considered but I am the mother of two kids 13 and 10 and try and digitally detox them when we go down to Westgate!

Great home away from home, ideal for small families

  • 4 of 5

Property was a good size, although compact we managed 5 adults although a bit of a push. Ideally suited for a small family with children.

Kirstey was helpful and answered queries before the holiday promptly. Plus lots of reading material to browse if you need ideas on what to do during your stay.

2 minute walk from the beach and a pub, and a 5 minute drive from a supermarket it's location was really convenient to get around.

Would have been 5* if the water pressure in the shower was a bit more powerful but that is more personal preference rather than an actual issue.

For the price, location and general presentation I would definitely recommend.

Owner's Response: HI there Many thanks for your lovely review. I totally take onboard the comments about the shower. We are having a new bathroom fitter with new more powerful shower over the winter months as I realise that the pressure is not great. Hope you will return to test it out! Kind regards

Excellent house, excellent location, extraordinary hospitality

  • 5 of 5

We stayed at the Station Street Apartment when visiting Ashbourne for a wedding. We were traveling as a family, two children 3 & 5. The owners went above and beyond the call of duty to make us feel welcome and the children comfortable. They allowed us to use their garden (behind the property) to relax and unwind with the children after our journey. The apartment itself has everything you could need, and is larger than the pictures suggest. We thought it might be tight for the 4 of us, but there was more than enough room. The WC is separate from the shower room, which is handy when a family is sharing. The show is divine, the bed is far exceeding a hotel standard bed, the Wifi was great. Notably the host was welcoming to kids, who we had sleep on the sofas. The even helped me move breakables around the flat upon our arrival, so the kids were tempted by the vases with flowers etc. It is also a very short walk from the tunnels in Ashbourne which are a nice family activity.

A very stress free relaxing break.

  • 5 of 5

Seagull House has been well thought out and provides the traveller with everything neccessary for an easy holiday. We were delighted with the property, and the children were reluctant to leave at the end of the week. Especially pleased with the firm mattress for a good nights sleep, after the bracing sea air which knocked us out every day. Plenty of places to visit even off season. Definately planning a return visit. Thank you Seagull House!

Visit was too short!! Awesome place to stay.

We stayed at the Sea Gull house in Westgate. My four kids loved it. We went at the end of November and the weather was very chilly, but we still enjoyed our stay in Westgate. The house was perfectly supplied with everything you could possibly need. The kids loved playing with the toys. Sleeping was very comfortable for the 6 of us. We walked through the town and on the beach. I can imagine it is a perfect vacation spot during the summer months. We definitely would like to return and rent this property again. Thanks again to the owner!
