4 Bedroom self catering holiday cottage in Argyll with magnificent views

Seafield Cottage is a delightful very well equipped with 4 bedrooms and two bathrooms. It has stunning views over Loch Creran and sleeps up to 8 people. Seafield Cottage is located on a quiet lane on the edge of Loch Creran just 15 minutes drive north of Oban. Very good for people with restricted mobility as the cottage is all on one floor. Pets Welcome

From 2012 our changeover day will be Saturday, so rentals will run from Saturday to Saturday.

Enjoying a peaceful setting just off a small lane, Seafield Cottage has fabulous views over Loch Creran. A detached, single-storey holiday cottage, with easy ramp access - Seafield is very well furnished, catering for all your needs and is conveniently close to the village of Benderloch and the large sandy beach at Tralee Bay.

Oban is a just a 15-minute drive away. Attractions nearby include the Sea Life Centre and sanctuary, horse riding, watersports and forest walks, and easy access to skiing in Glencoe and to the ski sift at Aonach Mhor, near Fort William. A new Cycle path is accessible nearby.

The hebridean islands of Mull, Lismore and Iona are easily reached by short ferry crossings, and offer wonderful scenery and wildlife and great for cycling. Your local pub is a short drive 4½ miles away. Also closeby is the well known Wide Mouth Frog restaurant in the Dunstaffanage Marina.

This cottage is also great for anyone who wants to do scuba diving as a diving access shore is closeby.

Seafield Cottage has four bedrooms, a living/dining-room with open log fire, fully equipped kitchen and larder, sun room, utility room. The bedrooms are two double bedrooms, one with 6ft bed, twin-bedded room, single bedroom. Two bathrooms - one ensuite to master bedroom - both have shower & bath. It also has a ping pong or table tennis table available by request. Up to two well behaved dogs welcome by special arrangement with owners.

Unvermietbar! (nicht von den Bildern blenden lassen)

Wir (4 Personen) haben diese Unterkunft über Weihnachten / Silvester 2015/2016, 1 Woche lang gebucht.

Als wir an der Unterkunft ankamen, trauten wir unseren Augen nicht.

- Einfahrt zugewuchert, parken in der Garage nicht möglich (voller Müll)

- Haustür stand offen, war nicht verputzt, schliesste nicht dicht

- beim ersten Betreten stieg uns gleich ein modriger, feuchter, schimmliger Geruch in die Nase

- Schimmel in den Ecken, an den Fenstern, Spinnweben

- es war eiskalt im Haus, es wurde nicht vorgeheizt

- Durch des Heizsystem mit Nachtspeicheröfen war es uns auch nicht möglich das Haus an diesem Tag noch warm zu bekommen

- Zudem funktionierte die Hälfte dieser nicht, 2 bereitgestellte Elektroheizer reichten nicht aus um es warm zubekommen

- Es wurde mehrmals darauf hingewiesen, die Heizer nicht zu benutzen, da sie viel Strom verbrauchen

- bereitgestellte Bettwäsche und Handtücher, sowie die Teppiche rochen ebenso modrig wie das Haus

- teilweise Fremdhaare in den Betten

- tote Insekten in allen Lampenfassungen und Ecken

- die Küche sowie die Küchenutensilien waren komplett unbenutzbar

- Verdreckte Teller/Besteck vom Vorgänger, Fettfilm überall, Mikrowelle/ Backofen/Toaster verdreckt mit Essensresten und Haare

- Schadensbegrenzung durch die bereitgestellten Putzmittel war ebenso unmöglich, da der Staubsauger beim anschalten, stark rauchte, kein Putzeimer und Lappen/Spülbürste waren komplett verdreckt

- im Garten lagen die Gartenmöbel wild verstreut, auf allen Wegen Unkraut und mehrere abgestorbene, große undefinierbare Pflanzen

- im Durchgang zwischen Garage und Haus sammelte sich alles mögliche an Unrat

Natürlich meldeten wir die Situation sofort Fewo direkt als auch dem Vermieter selbst.

Diese schien über den Zustand entsetzt und schickte uns am Folgetag eine "Hausdame".

So musste wir notgedrungen eine Nacht in diesem Haus verbringen. Die Hausdame traf am Folgetag wie vereinbart auch ein. Wir schilderten und zeigten ihr die vielen Missstände, wir reisten mit der Zusage eine Rückerstattung von der Vermieterin (telefonisch bestätigt) ab.

Zuhause angekommen wollte Sie davon nichts mehr wissen. Wir wären angeblich einfach abgereist und hätten ihnen keine Chance gegeben die Missstände zu beseitigen. Wir mussten mit einem Rechtsanwalt drohen um letztendlich 1/3 des Mietpreises zurück zu bekommen.

Das Haus ist in seinem jetzigen Zustand unvermietbar! Die Bilder passen nicht zum Objekt (nicht alleinstehend, kein Zugang zum Meer usw.)

Full Wifi in Cottage. Benderloch is a small village just north of Oban, with a wonderful cafe (Ben Lora Cafe), grocery shop (open till ten!), petrol station and a large sandy beach (Tralee). There is also a wonderful forest walk to Ben Lora, which has simply stunning views over the Firth of Lorne and the Islands of Lismore and Mull.

The Scottish Sealife and Marine Sanctuary is nearby. Sealife Safaris and marine adventure trips for all the family are also available just a few minutes away from the cottage.

There is an abundance of wildlife, rare butterflies and wild flowers with lovely shoreline walks.

Oban is just 15 minutes away and is a bustling harbour town with ferries departing regularly for the inner and outer hebridean islands. Mull, Iona, Staffa and Fingals Cave can all be visited in a day trip. Duart Castle and Torosay Castle can be visited by ferry from Oban. Delightful and easy walks can be had (or bycycle if you prefer) on the enchanting Isle of Lismore.

Change over day is Saturday to Saturday normally but this can be flexible depending on the time of year and by advance request. A cleaner can also be arranged to come into the cottage every two days at a modest extra charge. If you do not wish to clean the cottage yourself as required at the end of your stay, there will be a £40 surcharge but this must be arranged in advance.

  • Seafield has well furnished bedrooms, two doubles, one twin bedded room and a single room with an extra optional additional single bed in the conservatory if you wish to sleep 8 in the cottage. The cottage also has a child travel cot and high chair. There is a ramp up to the front door for wheel chair access and the accommodation is all on one floor making it easy to move around with no stairs - and so good for people with restricted mobility.
