Located in a private gated community at Calahonda with direct access to the Luna Beach (blue flag) and beach restaurant, this lovely apartment is an ideal family holiday location. The complex has 2 large pools and 2 children's pools with ample areas for sunbathing. Shops, restaurants and bars, and the beautiful port of Cabopino are all within easy walking distance. A convenient bus service to Marbella, Fuengirola and other local resorts is easily accessed at the front of the complex, for those not wishing to drive. The apartment is comfortably furnished with a large living area including 2 sofas and 2 chair beds. Newly refurbished (2016) open kitchen/dining area with dining table and six chairs, induction hob, oven, dishwasher, fridge, mini-fridge and microwave. Large bathroom (shower over bath) and washing machine. Newly replaced air conditioning and heating. Other facilities include WiFi, TV, DVD, with UK TV channels.

Sports facilities: The Costa Del Sol is a Golfers Paradise with dozens of fantastic courses within easy reach, Cabopino is less than a mile away. Tennis is available within Calahonda and Miraflores. Skiing (Sierra Nevadas - Nov - Apr) sailing, diving and all sorts of water sports are all readily available in the area.

amazing beach location

lovely spacious apartment right on the beach. Had a lovely patio which was a great sun trap all day. Ideal for your coffee in the morning and then a pre dinner drink with a view of the med. Shops and restaurants just over the bridge was nice to sit in the square having lunch or a late breakfast. Plenty of room around both pools in well kept grounds. Only draw back is you need to take your own lounger or just a towel to lay on the grass. Although the apartment is right on the main road as you are at the back of the block or at the pool nearest the beach you would not know it was there - although a bonus as you have bus stops for either direction right outside so a cheap way of getting about on your doorstep. Lovely food and cocktails at the beach bar and if you plan on hiring sun beds either go down early or pre book as it does get busy. Work is being done on the beach building a walkway in both directions which will be amazing when it is finished. We had a great stay there and would definitely go back and recommend to my friends and family. Catherine the owner was very helpful and provided great customer service along with Tina from solfinder.

Owner's Response: The walkway in both directions along the beach will certainly make places such as the beautiful Puerto Cabopino, with its great restaurants and bars a lot easier to get to on foot.

Little gem - Marbellamar Calahonda

Stayed for a week with my husband in September 2017 in this extremely well presented appartment. There is a private gated car park if you have hired a car, and private entrances to either the roadside, or opposite, to the beach and boardwalk. There are 2 very nice pools, with grass areas to sit and relax. The appartment itself is situated down one flight of stairs, and there is also a lift. Once inside the spacious appartment, you will walk passed the bathroom, into the kitchen area which is full of all the necessary utensils etc. to feel at home. You then continue into the living area with the 2 bedrooms to the left. There is a good size TV which has freeview British channels. The airconditoning units in the living area and bedroom are outstanding. The free wifi is also really good and gets excellent coverage throughout the appartment and terrace. There are 2 exits onto the terrace, one through the living area, and one through the main bedroom. The bed in the main bedroom is a little soft if you do prefer a hard mattress. The terrace is situated next to the outside stairs to the beach, so occasionally you will have people waking past, however this doesn`t feel intrusive at all. This was our second stay in Calahonda, and this appartment was far superior than the first. The location was perfect for us, right on the start of the boardwalk which runs along the coast. The beach was very well kept, with massage table charging from 25 Euros for a half an hour massage. The Luna beachbar was always available for cold drinks and good food. However we would recommend have a stroll along the boardwalk in the afternoon to the Los Rocas beach bar at the opposite end. One, to burn off some of those holiday calories, and two, Jim, Mags, Karen and Andrew at Los Rocas will give you a great welcome, and serve great food. They also serve cider which my husband was thrilled with.

Calahonda is full of bars and restuarants without having that `nightclub` culture.

If your idea of a great holiday is to relax in the sun, have a nice breeze of the sea, enjoy a few drinks of an afternoon then go out to one of the excellent restuarants in the evening, then do it all again the following day, the this appartment is the one for you. Would rebook in a heartbeat.

Perfect location Clean and airy,

We thoroughly enjoyed our week in this apartment, it was spacious, very clean and in very good condition which means it has been very well looked after. all facilities described in the details were correct and in good condition. all amenities were within a few minutes walk and even more within a few minutes drive, with lots of nice eating places around the area.

Good liaison with the owner and property management whilst out there was a bonus.

Would definitely recommend the apartment.

Perfect place for a relaxing holiday

I went to Marbellamar in May with my husband for a relaxing getaway. This is our third time at the apartment. Since we last went (in 2010) there has been a new kitchen fitted and a walkway built along the beach. The kitchen is lovely and modern, it has the added bonus of a dishwasher and oven, so there is no need to eat out if you do not want to. If you decide to eat out, there are plenty of restaurants you can walk to, or if you have a car then there are even more possibilities.

There is a beach bar right next to the apartment, just outside of the gate by the pool. It does amazing food and drinks including cocktails, and also ice creams. The staff there are very friendly and we spent a lot of time there playing cards. They also have entertainment at the weekends, we saw flamenco dancing and a live singer.

We hired a car, the apartment is easy to find and there is parking available.

We had a lovely holiday and will definitely be going back!

The apartment was exactly as described!

The apartment exceeded our expectations. Very well equipped and beautifully clean. Very spacious. The beds were comfortable and the air conditioning a welcome addition. So close to the wonderful beach. When we experienced a little problem with the safe I contacted the owner and Solfinders the agents. Our little problem was solved within the hour and Catherine the owner took time out to contact us directly to ensure we were happy. All in all would recommend to anyone wishing to visit Calahonda. We had a marvellous holiday. Thank you for sharing your holiday home with us, we hope to return in the very near future.

We contacted the reviewer to find out what we could do better and thereby gain 5* instead of 4*. They said the only thing was that they would have appreciated more information about the local area. The apartment is situated on the beach side of Calahonda, a short walk from local shops, bars, supermarkets, restaurants, beach bars and the beautiful marina of Puerto Cabopino. Malaga airport is approximately 30 minutes drive. Several large towns and shopping centres (inducing Marbella, Puerto Banus and Fuengirola) are only a 10 -15 minutes drive and there are many beaches and smaller resorts, close-by, along the coast. A little further afield, Gibraltar (which also has an airport) and the ancient town of Ronda are an hour's drive away. Within 2 to 3 hours you can reach; Granada, Seville, Cordoba and the Sierra Nevada for sightseeing or skiing. Local buses travelling between Malaga and Marbella stop outside the apartment. North Africa (Tangier) is a short ferry ride from Gibraltar
