About Bill

We are a Minnesota family that enjoys the outdoors. I grew up in a small town in Wisconsin, while my wife grew up just outside of Toronto. We met in Dallas in 1988. We have two children and Webster. Both of our children are at school in Omaha, NE, but they still ski with us regularly.

Bill purchased this condo in 2005

Why Bill chose Big Sky

Skiing has been a part of our family's life for many years. We skied a variety of destination in the Rockies. In 2004 we took our first ski trip to Big Sky; six months later bought Stillwater 1028. We have grown as a family, developed and found new friendships with every trip to Stillwater 1028.

Stillwater 1028 has blessed us with the people we have met through our rentals. We have developed friends that live as close as 1/2 hour of our home in MN, and as far away as Germany. The relationships made are one of the many perks of owning this place.

What makes this condo unique

When we were looking for a condo, I asked that we find a place where we will have views that will constantly remind us that we are in the most beautiful place in North America. When you travel long distances to go skiing, seeing the mountains every waking hour is extremely important; Andesite and Wilson Peaks are impossible to avoid while staying in this condo. This is truly our Heaven on Earth.

Great location

  • 5 of 5

Great location. Easy walk to lifts. Condo had a well equipped kitchen and comfortable sleeping. Laundry is shared, so bring quarters to run the machines. Sleeps 6, but would recommend for up to 4 people. Living area would be crowded for more than 4 but very comfortable for our group of 4. Owner is very responsive to questions and gave great recs on restaurants, which are close by. Enjoyed our stay and would definitely come back.

All had wonderful time - we especially enjoyed the proximity to ski lift and the village.

  • 5 of 5

All was more than adequate for our needs. All of our meals were prepared for the most in advance and packed with us. Only recommendation: upgrade microwave and cooking/bakeware!

Great location and cozy condo

  • 5 of 5

We had a great stay at this cozy condo for 4 nights. The condo is everything as decribed. It is close to lifts and stores in the mountain village. We loved the condo as soon as we entered. The living room is quite spacious, and the beds are comfortable. We found everything we needed in the kitchen. The check-in and check-out instructions are very clear. My family enjoyed the condo while I was in a conference and they had fun! We would certainly come back.

Quaint and centrally located in Big Sky Resort area

  • 4 of 5

This property met all of our expectations. I am sure if you were visiting in the ski season, this would have been even better. We were traveling to Yellowstone and read this was about an hour away. The views and drive to and from Yellowstone were as beautiful as the park. The grocery stores were a little higher in Meadow Valley (I think that was what it was called) but had everything we needed.

The amenities were well provided and explained in our email. A small map of the Big Sky area would be helpful for locating restaurants and shopping on the mountain and within the Big Sky area.

We enjoyed Montana Jacks and the BaseCamp activities.

The property was clean and comfy!

Good stay overall - Recommended!

  • 4 of 5

We had a good experience and would recommend this property to others.

Location is nice although it was an hour drive away from Yellowstone National Park - West Entrance. We were aware of it in advance.

Condo building looks little old but is well maintained. We found everything we needed in the condominium. It is nice and cozy. It was easy to find. Description provided is accurate. Laundry machines downstairs was convenient as well.

Views from the condo are fantastic. We even saw some wild life (deers and bighorn sheep) within few miles of the condomium.

There is a small grocery/convenience store within few steps from the apt. And another proper grocery store about 6-7 miles away. We didn't have any time to do much activities in Big Sky as we just had 3 days and we spent that in Yellowstone National Park.

Few things we were unhappy with:

- The two mattresses on the loft needs replacement. they have sunk in the middle and were really uncomfortable.

- The utensil in the kitchen are worn-out and needs to be replaced. Coating on the Pots/Pans has come off.

- The water heater although quite large in capacity didn't heat water quickly enough. We were five in our party and had to give some time between showers for the water to be heated. I could have contacted Bill to see if there was any way to increase the water temperature (I couldn't find any knob on the water heater) but I didn't as it wasn't any major problem.

Owner's Response: We appreciate when our guests offer feedback on improvements for the condo. Our intention is to make your stay the best stay possible. We hold ourselves responsible for a good experience in the beauty of Big Sky. Without feedback, good and bad, we cannot achieve those goals. The mattresses were replaced this past winter. I will have them checked. The hot water heater was replaced when eight years ago. I will also have that checked. Sounds like it is time for some new pots and pans. Again, thanks for your feedback!

We had a blast! Well kept condo, that has almost everything you may need for a fun stay!

  • 5 of 5

Everyone first impression was woaw! The condo was clean, inviting and beautiful. My kids didn't have time to get bored, they could watch TV and play game together. The kitchen had everything I needed to prepare quick meals. I love the fact that the condo is in Big Sky resort and we could just walk to the river and canoe, and we could participate in the activities that the resort had for the 4th of July holiday.

We had a great stay, and we would certainly recommend this condo or use it anytime we go back to Big sky. We love Big sky and consider it home.

To the owners thanks for thinking about everything in the condo... even ice cube ready to use in the freezer :-)
