Welcome to Davidstow, North Cornwall where starry night skies become sun-drenched mornings, and summer seems finally to have arrived. Take long sandy walks, or picnics on the moors, or watch the little ones have fun in the rock pools on Polzeath beach.

Luxury Riverside Lodge with meadow views, free onsite Tennis Court and FREE Wi-Fi, at Inny Vale, Davidstow, Camelford, near Tremail & Boscastle, North Cornwall. Waterside Lodge / Cottage is an English Heritage oak beamed home. Sleeps 6 - 2 bedrooms on the first floor and 1 bedroom on the ground floor (+ infant: Travel Cot, mattress and bottom sheet provided - please bring any other associated bedding you require). There is a riverside garden with picket fence & relaxing country views over the river gives ample space for children to play. Enjoy the patio, dining furniture & cornish slate BBQ. Visit beautiful spring and summer gardens. See sheep or cows grazing, abundant wildlife: listen to the variety of visiting birds - Kingfishers have been spotted on the river near the lodge garden, goldfinches nest in the honeysuckle by the gate and nuthatches nest in nearby trees. Stunning land and seascapes, quaint seaside villages, superb sunsets and unpolluted night sky. Cosy pubs/restaurants in Winter. There is a gas (wood burner effect) stove in the lounge area and heating throughout, for warm and cosy winter breaks. Short breaks, variable changeovers and out of season reductions, for complete weeks, for 2/3 persons, (excl. school holidays, and any offers). PLEASE SEE RATES AND AVAILABILITY BELOW. The self catering property is set in a tranquil valley on the edge of the River Inny in a select, gated, managed development, with Tintagel & Boscastle nearby. The garden adjoins the River Inny. The lodge is close to the North Cornwall coast, situated on the edge of Bodmin/Davidstow Moor. Come to enjoy the peaceful setting, listening to the river flowing by. Enjoy wonderfully relaxing evenings with a glass of wine; see some beautiful night skies away from city light pollution. There are 2 double bedrooms on the first floor, (1 with a double bed and TV, the other with 2 single beds). There is another bedroom on the ground floor with a double bed, and a very comfortable open plan kitchen/dining/lounge area. A welcome tray is provided. The lodge will be decorated for Christmas guests.

All radiators have their own thermostatic, timed controls. The lounge area has a gas stove (wood burner effect).

There are heated towel rails in the bathrooms. Together with excellent insulation, this makes the lodge an ideal property to visit during the colder months. It looks extremely pretty when everywhere is frosted over and just as lovely when covered in snow.

Ideally located for both North and South coasts of Cornwall.

Just want to say we had a fab holiday and the cottage was just perfect in fact I think it's the cleanest we've ever stopped in!! Your cleaners do a fantastic job. It’s rare to find people that are so thorough. For me personally, it makes my holiday a lot more relaxing.

All bed linen and towels (including bath sheets, hand and tea towels) are provided, but please bring your own beach towels. All radiators have their own thermostatic timed controls and the cost of electricity is included in the price throughout the year. There is a gas stove (wood burner effect) in the lounge area and TV with freeview. Assorted DVD's, videos, books and games for both adults and children. A selection of tennis racquets & balls (for adults & children) is also provided, together an assortment of beach toys for small children. Also a selection of tourist leaflets, and recommendations from previous visitors. Cool Box and ice packs provided. Outside washing line. Outside is the ideal backdrop for dining and relaxation, listening to the River Inny, which runs alongside the garden. The property is surrounded by a picket fence, but young children must be supervised, due to the close proximity of the river.

The First Impression Was A Lasting Impression

On Arriving We Met The Housekeeper Who Was Very Nice And Helpful...On Entering We Loved The Look And The Space Especially Upstairs.Was Happy And Relaxed The Whole Week..The Bird Song First Thing In The Morning Was So Nice To Hear.The Actual Village Is Set Out Lovely With Space And Very Clean.The Area From The Village To Any Coastal Resort Or Even The Shopping Is Not A Bad Distance.For All Those Reasons We Would If Wishing to Visit Cornwall Again Stay At Waterside Lodge...ONE COMENT FEEL NEED TO SAY Is There May Be Space Within Lodge But Feel There Need To Be Little More Storage I.E Bathroom Shelf And Main Bedroom No Actual Dressing Table ..AND FOOD Need A Cupboard Space ..But These DO Not/Did Not Spoil Anything..

Fabulous Holiday Home

We had a fabulous holiday staying at Waterside Lodge in October. The property is very well furnished, well maintained and very comfortable. Although there was four of us (two adults & two children), the lodge would have been equally as comfortable if there was six of us.

The owners were very easy to deal with and communication was good. The property is easy to find and well located for us to explore Cornwall for the first time.

We would highly recommend this holiday home.

Looking forward to returning

Our family of 6 have just returned from a weeks stay and are already looking forward to returning. The lodge is lovely, very clean and well equipped. The beds are very comfortable with good quality bedding. The wet room is great after a long day at the beach with little ones and powerful for the adults. The lodge is very well located and easy to find. The owners were very good at communicating and the lodge has lots of local attraction information and maps for you to get some inspiration. This was our first family trip to Cornwall and we feel in love with not only the county but also the lodge itself.

Cosy, modern, immaculate. We loved it!

If you want a cosy, but modern lodge in a beautiful location, you will love this!

The owners were very friendly from the start. They decorated the lodge for Christmas and left mince pies and wine, which was a very kind gesture.

The lodge is cosy, but spacious enough to have 6 people without too much of a squeeze. It has all you need to have a home from home for a short break. It was also immaculate, which makes it feel so much nicer, as many rental properties in pretty locations are not well maintained. The bathrooms are particularly nice.

It really is worth the money, but I would suggest taking a few board games as 6 people playing chess gets complicated ;)

We will go back for sure.

We do try hard to make Christmas memorable and take into account the age and make-up of our guests. Virtually all our guests comment very favourably on the presentation and cleanliness of the lodge. This is due mainly to the efforts of Vicki, the lady who looks after our lodge in our absence, and we are very grateful to her. We certainly agree with the comment about chess. As far as we are concerned, chess for two people is as complicated as it gets!! We do apologise for not mentioning that, in addition to the chess set, which is on view, there are several other games for all ages in the chest on the landing. However, we take the point that there could be another game or two for playing by several adults. We will remedy this for next season. Thank you for the suggestion.

Wonderful days in Cornwall

Wir haben eine Woche Urlaub in diesem tollen Haus verbracht. Alles, was wir brauchten, war vor Ort. Zur Begrüßung gab es sogar Scones mit clotted cream und jam und frische Milch. Das Haus ist sehr sauber und sehr gut ausgestattet. Das Haus hat den größten Garten in der Anlage und dieser ist von außen kaum einsehbar. Wirklich klasse. Wir hatten unheimlich viel Spaß hier. Auch unsere Söhne (5 und 9) hatten viel Spaß. Es sind auch Spielsachen für draußen für die Kinder vorhanden. Rundum empfehlenswert!

One not to miss!!!!!

I have no faults at all to say,

Beautiful pubs near by, stunning place to stay and close to everything you want for a holiday. I am not one to go to the same places every year, but I will to riverside lodge.

The bathrooms where clean, the rooms where clean everything was perfect.

I have told every one about the lodge and would recommend it to every one. My favourite place would have to be padstow, lovely places to eat especially for the fish and chips!!!!!!

Learn how at surf schools with equipment hire. Camel Cycle Trail & bike hire; Horse Riding nearby. Sailing, water skiing, canoeing, windsurfing, kayaking at Tamar Lakes. Boat hire at Rock. Scuba diving at Harlyn, nr Padstow. Fishing at Crowdy Reservoir. Microlight flying at Moorland Flying Club on Davidstow Moor. Golfers are simply spoilt for choice! Further afield is Hartland Abbey and gardens with its lovely woodland walk to Blackpool Mill, the location of 'Barton Cottage' in BBC's 'Sense & Sensibility'. The walk is a carpet of wildflowers in spring. Visit the Camel Valley Vineyard.

The amount of work involved in changeovers, and cost to us, is the same whether bookings are for 3 nights or one week.



1/3 on booking. Balance payable 6 weeks before occupation. Plus a security deposit of £100 which will be refunded within 10 days of departure provided there are no substantial damages. To date it has never been necessary to withhold any amount. Usual wear and tear is understood. Payment by Cheque, Bank Transfer or by Paypal, which attracts a 3.6% surcharge to cover expenses.
