Our stay in Santa Fe
Overall we found the property a good value. The kitchen was well equipped, good pots and pans, silverware, dishes and appliances. The plastic tumblers should be replaced. There was plenty of space in the dinning and living areas allowing us to unwind after a long day of visiting shops, museums and galleries. Walking to downtown was easy and enjoyable. The access to the square and surrounding restaurants was excellent. Parking on the street was no problem. We also enjoyed the beautiful gardens surrounding the house. We utilized the back patio for grilling and evening cocktails. What kept us from giving a higher star rating are easy fixes: upgrading the linen and towels (matching towels and newer sheets), replacing the caulking around the tub would add to a sense of cleanliness. Replacing the broken bench or just removing it would help with first impressions. That is a beautiful garden!
Overall it is a charming cottage w/south western charm on a quiet street convenient everything.
Thank you so much for your review and, of course, we will check on your comments to see how we can improve. Just to point out, we actually intentionally have mis-matched towel colors - part of eclectic Santa Fe but we will further think on it. Regarding the bench, we always considered it decorative garden item - not meant to be totally functional - its 70 years old. But, perhaps we will remove it as you suggest - it is a lovely garden.
Of course we will take care of the grouting and thank you for pointing it out.
We hope to have you back for your next trip to Santa Fe. All the best, Richard
Great place and location!
The neighborhood is very quiet yet in walking distance to everything.... would stay again when I’m back in this area.
This property is perfect for two people, a couple, or two friends .
The location is also perfect walking distance to old town.
Best of all is the patio area with outside kiva = super!
The old thing I found odd is i was asked to strip the sheets and load, start the washing machine. This, after paying a cleaning fee. Other than this I found they property top marks and would definitely stay here again.
Thank you so much for your 5 star review and for recommending Casa Carolina. The location is, as you say, wonderful. I wanted to clarify just a small point, we do not request our guests to start the washing machine as all our sheets and towels are professionally cleaned offsite. However, we do request that the dishwasher is loaded and perhaps started. They take generally two hours to complete and having them already started makes it a bit better for our housekeeping staff.
We hope you visit Santa Fe once more and do think of our homes. All the best, Richard
May in Santa Fe
Great location, clean.
A wonderful location, a property with historic charm and it is an easy walk to restaurants
So glad to have visited Sante Fe and to stay at this casita.
Cozy and Delightful!
What a great place to relax at the end of a day of site-seeing! It was cozy, nicely appointed and clean. It’s an easy walk to the Plaza and access to other points of interest. As described, the private parking space is tight and the narrow street makes maneuvering a challenge but we were able to fit a mid-size car. Richard was a fabulous host and I would stay there again in a heartbeat!
Casa Carolina is located at 117 Quintana Street in the center of old Santa Fe. The street is a quiet narrow dead end street with no through traffic. There is ample parking on the street in the front of Casa Carolina as well as parking for one small car in the driveway. In one direction you can walk to a nice coffee spot, Better Day, the grocery co-op and yoga studio - Thrive; and in the other direction is the Plaza and bookstores and restaurants galore. Not to mention a third direction towards the ever-growing railyard district, farmers market and, one of the best restaurant in Santa Fe, Joseph's.
