The property was as advertised. Everything ready to go when we arrived.
It is located conveniently for doing the tourist things like castles and even the further away highlands.
The only slightly negative thing I have to note, and the reason I only gave 4 stars for cleanliness, is that the deck really needs to be power washed.
Many Thanks for your kind comments. The wooden decking area will receive attention shortly.
Loch end cottage was absolutely fabulous!
The cottage was extremely clean, convenient, spacious, well-equipped for our American family! The garden and grounds were beautiful! The lovely, updated house was easy to keep organized and felt comfortable! We will share information on this cottage with my extended family who hopes to come for a visit this fall.
Thankyou for your kind comments
We so very much enjoyed our visit . The house has everything you could possibly need the photos do not do it justice. We used it as a central location to tour along the Antoine Wall but also to visit Sterling , Edinburgh and Loch Lomond all seemed to be just 30 minutes travel in a car . We so enjoyed the gardens in the evening sitting and relaxing . There is also next door The Colzium Estate which is such a nice park to walk around. Back to the house i am not great and detailed description of properties but i can say we all felt we had a quality luxury stay and would definitely book again . Mark was also very helpful in all communication.
Relaxing getaway and great location
We choose the property for it's location and also it's disabled facilities. My father is unable to walk and is in a wheelchair. So finding a property with an easy access ground floor with all the necessary facilities which included accessible decked patio from the house and garden which got the sun most of the day, was perfect for him. There are some lovely walks from the house, also easily negotiable for my father's buggy, along Banton Loch and also around the Colzium estate.
We also chose the property for it's great location. Edinburgh Castle is an hour away, Stirling Castle about half an hour and the Falkirk Wheel and Kelpies about 20mins.
The property was well equipped and the bedrooms had plenty of wardrobes/storage.
Broadband is rather slow, which was a bit frustrating as we are self employed and had be contactable, but we were aware of this when we booked .
Altogether is was a lovely place to stay.
Many Thanks for your kind comments.
Also thankyou for your suggestions regarding the wetroom bathroom which we have put in place.
Beautiful family home!
Thanks so much for a lovely stay in Lochend Cottage... 5 adults and one family dog had a wonderful time in spite of horrid weather. The house was so welcoming and cosy. Modern with a traditional character about the place. Loved the artwork! Showers were great and beds comfy which was lovely after being out in the rain and cold! Lovely walks round the cottage and we drove into town to the SSE Hydro for the Blue Planet 2 orchestra one night. The only one issue we really had and it didn't cause us any huge problem was that the garden (at the front entrance)was not gated and we cdnt comfortably let the dog play in the garden as if he did wander out onto the track, the main A803 was just across from there. Ideally for both dog and child safety, I wd have liked a gate of some sort but I raised this with you already and I'm delighted to hear you wd resolve this for us with a temporary barrier if we visited again. I appreciate that for you using the entrance regularly a gate may be more of a nuisance but your offer to resolve for us visiting again, means that we wd def wish to revisit. I can imagine that in the summer, the garden must be a real suntrap and has a lovely private outlook. Thanks again for having us! Ps the table football went down a treat!!
We were a party of six and we all loved the house, the property, the lake and the town. Lots of good info from Mr Mark Hawthorne for eating and activities plus information about the house, it was greatly appreciated. We made a few day trips out and about including Ben Nevis which was a great climb, Inverness, Stirling and of course my favorite city Edinburgh! We had a great time and would definitely recommend staying. If you do have the opportunity to stay, ENJOY!!
Many Thanks for your kind comments
