Situated in the Heart of Scotland, Loch End offers a perfect base for exploring the very best of this beautiful country. This recently built country house just outside the market town of Kilsyth comfortably sleeps 8 adults in 4 bedrooms or can be adapted to sleep 10 Adults with guest beds plus cots available for young children.The house is very spacious meaning larger parties will not feel cramped. From the house signposted walks take you in all directions including along the the lochside and through the adjoining Colzium Country Estate where you will find attractions for young and old including the Walled Gardens and a large new Childrens Play Area.

The house is situated at the foot of Banton Loch which is part of the Colzium Country Park Estate providing fishing, country walks and children’s outdoor play area on your doorstep. The nearby Forth and Clyde canal network is only a 5 minute cycle and is overlooked by the Antonine Wall, a world heritage site. This beautiful waterway leads East to the impressive Falkirk Wheel and West towards Kirkintilloch.. For those planning to head further afield the motorway network is only a 5 minute drive away and provides fast easy access to Stirling, Edinburgh and Glasgow.

The house is newly built to a very high standard and features good insulation, double glazing and downstairs under floor heating. The building also takes advantage of green energy and is heated by a 'Ground Source Heat Pump' system providing a very comfortable living environment from a renewable source.

Downstairs, the property is wheelchair accessible throughout and features a fully fitted kitchen with dining area for up to 12 people, a very large living room with leather sofas, TV, DVD and games area. Furthermore, it has 1 double bedroom with en-suite WC wet floor shower room with grab rails, a utility room with washer drier plus a separate cloak room toilet.

Upstairs, the property has 2 good sized twin/double bedrooms with storage, 1 family bathroom with feature bath, large shower and vanity unit, 1 exceptionally large master bedroom with king size sleigh bed with en-suite featuring double end bath, shower and twin basins. There is also a hallway sitting area with bookcase for those needing a place to relax. Bedrooms have Flat Screen TV's with DVD player.

The Swan Inn at Banton Village is a pleasant walk along the loch side and provides you the opportunity to explore the beautiful surrounding countryside.

Just right accommodation for our trip

Great spacious, comfortable, and reasonably priced accommodation. We were in Glasgow for a para -swimming competition and this house suited us as a group of swimmers, parents and coaches. Very well equipped, more than enough cutlery, crockery etc. to cater for hungry swimmers. Good bedrooms and the 3 1/2 bathrooms great for avoiding the bathroom rush in the mornings. Great location near the loch with visiting wildlife. We had a cat chasing a fox around the garden and early morning visit from deer as well as constant bird song. We were a reliable 35 minutes motorway into Toll Cross Pool even in morning rush hour. The lack of broadband and a poor mobile signal (OK in the garden or upstairs windows) was a bit of a nuisance as the competition organisers decided that start sheets and results would only be available on line and not on paper! That said the Boat House restaurant does a great hot chocolate to enjoy whilst borrowing their WiFi. Thoroughly recommended and I suspect we will be back next year if the event is in Glasgow again. Accessibility notes Worth considering this property if you have access requirements, obviously discuss your particular needs with Mark the very helpful owner-. The property is well laid out on the ground floor including one ground floor bedroom with fully open shower / wet room. en-suite. The unmade road approach, gravel drive and front steps mean that access by car needed but the large kitchen diner and all downstairs is accessible via a ramp that leads to the rear decking area overlooking the garden and beyond. Great Holiday House

We really enjoyed our stay at Loch End Cottage. The property, which is very clean and well maintained, feels bigger than it looks in the photographs and all the rooms are very spacious, providing lots of room for us to spread out. We particularly liked the well equipped kitchen and large dining area. All the bedrooms are a good size but the master bedroom is particularly impressive with a luxurious en-suite. We found lots to occupy the family, including a trip into Glasgow and even spent a day at a lovely beach at Aberdour, only 40 minutes drive away. But mostly we will remember the large, private garden area and grounds beyond, which are full of wildlife, lead to a wide range of walks straight from the door and provide a real sense of tranquility. Heaven!

The Kilsyth & Campsie fells start behind Banton Loch for the more enthusiastic walker or take the Tak ma Doon road to Carronbridge & the Carron Dam.
