We are a recently retired couple who live in Angus with our chocolate labrador. We have two married children and one grand child.
We fell in love with this property immediately because of the area and the spectacular setting of Hazel Cottage. We also thought it would give us an interest in retirement and make a fantastic cosy 'bolt hole' for ourselves and the family as well as a property to rent.
Beautiful views of the loch, very peaceful, tranquil setting whilst having a very friendly pub a short walk away and a restaurant a very short drive away. The proximity of the boat yard is a bonus as it the many activities possible from this wonderful location.
Exactly what we were looking for. Fully equipped clean house, in peace and quiet with excellent views. Tesco delivered, so with 2 fridges we could stock up for the week. Broadband kept the kids happy in the evenings. Used the BBQ hut on 4 evenings, even when it was raining outside. Dalmally golf course was fantastic - quiet, very reasonably priced, could hire clubs and trolleys, friendly people. Hired a boat from the yard (very nice owners) down the drive and spent 2 hours on Loch Awe. Travelled to Oban (45 mins) and Fort William (1 hr plus). The fantastic drive through Glencoe to get to Fort William is a must. Kids climbed Ben Nevis and played in the snow at the top. Would certainly recommend Hazel Cottage to anyone looking to get away from it all. Excellent communication from owners throughout booking process.
A lovely little cottage tucked away in a quiet and peaceful location with views over Loch Awe in the Scottish Highlands. The cottage had everything you needed, including a great little hut complete with a barbecue.
If you want a location to get away from it all, this is for you.
The Cottage met all our expectations: it was light and airy with plenty of space inside and out and wonderful views to the loch and mountains. The sofas in the lounge were new and very comfortable. The conservatory was also well equipped and comfortable to sit in. The outside decked area was sunny and had plenty of seating. The kitchen was very well equipped. We found the owners very helpful and very happy to deal with any questions or queries. Everything was clean and of good quality. The area had plenty to occupy us especially as we like walking in the mountains. We would certainly return to this cottage.
