Beach View is a modern contemporary holiday property which has undergone a complete refurbishment and occupies a superb elevated front line position on the site of the old Gwel Marten Hotel on Headland Road in Carbis Bay and just a short walk to one of the best beaches in England. The apartment boasts a fantastic private sea terrace which very few properties have and overlooks the immaculate gardens of Gwel Marten, providing glorious uninterrupted sea and beach views. There is also free Wifi internet access.

There is a large private covered parking space which is just a few seconds walk away and just a little further is the delightful Carbis Bay train station. It is just a short train ride into the centre of St Ives along the single track and the journey takes just a few minutes and follows a wonderfully scenic path along the coast. The train very popular with visitors and a great way of beating all the busy holiday traffic in St Ives.

Beach View is also located right on the doorstep of the South West Coastal Path so it is an ideal base to start your walk and is also just a few minutes walk down the hill to the golden soft sands of Carbis Bay with its calm turquoise water.

Internally the apartment is very spacious (1200 sq ft) and in the main is fully open plan with a white gloss modern kitchen with breakfast bar, formal dining area with a large table and six chairs and a luxurious lounge area with two very large three seater sofas where guests can relax and enjoy breathtaking sea views. The modern family bathroom is again very spacious and has a separate shower enclosure, twin sinks and a deep luxurious bath with additional shower. There are two large bedrooms to the rear with the master bedroom having a king size bed and the second bedroom has two single beds with an additional single bed designed with flexibility in mind. Both bedrooms have TVs.

There is also has a very useful rear terrace with seating and which is ideal for a morning coffee and a read of the papers when more shelter is required and its also provides guests with a great outdoor storage area for bikes and surfboards.

In terms of local facilities, the nearest supermarket is a Tesco which is less than 5 minutes drive away off the main A3074 road into St Ives and where there is a great Costa Coffee which also has free wifi. There are also banks, hairdressers, a chemist, newsagents and general stores all a short walk away in the centre of Carbis Bay. During the day when on the beach there is a cafe and food outlet.

The apartment is available all year round and a great escape location during the off-peak winter season when walking the South West Coastal path is particularly popular activity. You can walk along the picturesque coastal path into St Ives in 20 minutes in one direction or the villages, beaches, dunes and golf course of Lelant in the other. The direct access to the St Ives branch railway line means that a car is not required. The apartment is situated on the ground floor and is accessed by walking down a small flight of steps. There is a large bench on the front terrace along with an additional table and 4 chairs. There is a further table and 2 chairs on the rear terrace. The Kitchen comes equipped with kettle, toaster, filter coffee machine, fresh orange juice maker, full dinner set, wine glasses, mugs, tea towels, first aid kit, Iron and Iron board, full assortment of pans, cutlery and general cooking utensils. The master bedroom has a king size bed, bedside tables and lamps, wardrobe and chest of draws with colour TV. The second bedroom has twin beds again with bedside tables and lamps, wardrobe, chest of draws and colour TV. There is an additional single fold away bed also stored so providing flexible arrangements to sleep a fifth person. Linking the rear bedrooms to the front aspect is a spectacular galleried hallway which is 40 feet in length.

Loved staying at Carbis Bay. Stunning views, flat very comfortable with great facilities. Two minute walk to train station, with one stop to St Ives, or 30 minute walk on coastal path to St Ives. Location of flat is great to visit many beautiful places like Lizard Point, Minack Theatre, Lands End and many many more. Hugely recommend to stay here.

Great week away, amazing views from the apartment, would recommend*****

Our family of four (we have one and 3 year olds) travelled down from London and spent a week at the apartment in mid June.

Weather was amazing, apartment was very clean throughout and well presented. We used a local equipment hire company for delivery of a cot and high chair which worked really well and Bryan/Paul were very accommodating to help us arrange it.

The twin room was perfect for our 3 year old sleeping in a proper bed - she slept really well. We had the cot in the double bed room which had plenty of space even with the three of us.

All modern appliances in the kitchen were easy to use and loads of space even with a dining table to seat 6+ people. Family bathroom was perfect for post beach cleaning activities. Plenty of provided towels to go around.

Quiet location and only a 5 minute walk down to the beach which was much quieter than the main town beaches nearby. Sitting out on the patio overlooking the beach and watching the paddle boarders of an evening was very relaxing!!

We would certainly go back to Beach View and would definitely recommend it to anyone. The photos are great but the apartment is even better when you get there!!

Room with a View

We have just returned from a most enjoyable week spent at Beachview overlooking Carbis Bay. Brilliant location with stunning views. Beachview was a very clean and spacious apartment with everything you could need for a home from home. It is situated five minutes from the beach and two minutes from the railway station. Travel is very cheap to both St Ives and Penzance. The walk to St Ives via the coastal path enjoyable and not too difficult. Would certainly consider returning to Beachview in the future. Fantastic family holiday

Super flat in a lovely location 5 minutes walk from the beach and the South West coastal path. The flat was very clean and had all mod cons. Two bedrooms - one for adults and one for the children. The flat has a great power shower. Highly recommended!

Could Be Better

We had a lovely holiday, but were a little disappointed with the accommodation it felt a little dated. Fabulous position with sweeping views of the bay and close to the station for trains into St Ives which was a fun way of going into St Ives.

The bedrooms were virtually daylight all through the night, from the light in the courtyard, they could really do to have black out blinds. The pillows were hard and the quilt heavy. Unfortunately the network was down all week.

There was no washing up liquid, dish cloth or pan scrubs and no dishwasher tablets, it did say in the description no cleaning materials but I think for washing up etc it should be provided,

I am very pleased that you enjoyed the fantastic location of the apartment and the wonderful front line views it has over Carbis Bay Beach and out to sea towards St Ives Harbour and that this added to the overall enjoyment of your holiday. The close location to the village station is also an added feature that guests really enjoy as the tourist train provides so many additional advantages to beating all the busy holiday traffic in St Ives. Beach View has been completely renovated over recent years and by far the majority of the feedback on the layout and furnishings from guests has been extremely positive. Regarding the Wifi outage this was very unfortunate but as soon as this was reported we visited immediately and then booked an engineer to fix this as soon as was possible. This turned out to be an external fault in the telephone line which was beyond our control. Thank you also for your comments regarding the external courtyard lighting and the brightness experienced at night and we will certainly look into the options for alleviating this in the future.
