About Pete Laurina
I'm a software engineer, Ironman, and ultra distance runner. I moved to Knoxville in 2016 from Colorado after having been there for 15 years. I was looking for a place where I didn't have to give up mountains, but could find more water to plan in. After traveling the country for a couple years while working remotely, I decided Knoxville offered almost everything I wanted... an ocean with waves being the one unchecked box. I live upstairs at the property and love meeting guests, but will happily let you have your privacy if you prefer.
Pete Laurina purchased this House in 2017
Why Pete Laurina chose Knoxville
West Knoxville has everything you within minutes from the house. It is an easy 15 minute drive to anywhere downtown and you get to avoid the interstate if you want too. The neighborhood is quiet, the backyard is private, and while you are 3 minutes from a major mall, the roads do not have much traffic (even during the holidays!). While the city limits surround me, the neighborhood is considered county, so there are no street lights shining in the windows at night and there's still the convenience of municipal water/sewer/gas connections.
What makes this House unique
Once you realize how easy it is to get to/from all locations and services around Knoxville, you'll understand just how strategically located the house is.

Great place to stay.
Basement unit completely remodeled as of 2020. Less than an hour to mountains and less than fifteen minutes to University of TN. Close to interstate, grocery stores, and shopping. Quiet safe neighborhood. All needed basic amenities supplied. The owners even thought of extras like umbrellas and ice packs. Shared laundry. Very spacious for two people and room for pack and play if needed. Owner very attentive and easy to work with.
It was the perfect place for our 2-person weekend getaway. It had everything we needed. Super clean and safe. Good proximity to campus and old city/market square ($15 uber fare). I would definitely stay there again.
Nice updated property
They made the stay wonderful.
The accommodations were superior. It is a beautiful mother in laws apt. Beautifully decorated. Nice location to interstate, places to eat and quiet surroundings at night.
Not complains only recommendations house number on mailbox especially needed for people coming in at night.
Love this place and will stay again.
My husband and I stayed overnight as a way to break up a long drive on our way to our vacation spot. The apartment was very nice. It was clean and quiet. It was exactly like it was in the pictures.
Homey, well-situated, close to everything! The "mother-in-law-suite" was nicely furnished, roomy, and well-stocked with everything we needed. Good lighting (I like well-lit rooms), lots of pots, pans, utensils and appliances. Bed was VERY comfortable and I appreciated the double closets, and built-in shelves and drawers. Pete anticipated everyone's needs when he included multiple styles of charging devices, a lint roller, ironing board and iron, first aid kit, motion-detector night lights, coffee, shampoo, conditioner and body wash, bottled water..and more! He really put a lot of thought and attention to detail in furnishing and stockimg this rental.
