It's Home.

We were fortunate to be welcomed by the owners and their obvious love for the property soon rubbed off onto us. It was so homely and everything that anyone could require is supplied. We thank them again.

Difficult to fault!

  • 5 of 5

I cannot disagree with any of the earlier reviews.

it is very difficult to fault this charming home which feels comfortable from the time you walk in the door.

The bedrooms/bathrooms (one a shower room) are conveniently located with a twin room, double (king-sized bed) and shower room off a corridor at one end of the living area and another king-sized double and bathroom at the other end. The beds are all comfortable.

The living/dining/cooking room is a useful size which is small enough to heat reasonably quickly, but with enough room to swing a tiger-sized cat with room to spare. The TV is of a good size, with UK (Sky) channels, and WiFi is reliable and quite fast.

Everything you need, apart from personal toiletries, is provided.

Chez Natalie is all that previous reviews have claimed - helpful owners, good food and reasonable prices.

We will certainly be back at some future time.

Quiet and comfortable accommodation

  • 5 of 5

My daughter and I stayed at the cottage for a week and found it very comfortable and relaxing with plenty of room and 2 lovely outside spaces which were in the sun at different times of the day. Having both a bathroom and a shower room was a real bonus as was the very good wifi and the log burner for cooler evenings. Well equipped kitchen and comfortable sofas for watching the English channels on the TV in the evening. There was plenty to do in the area (seaside, WW1 battlefield sights and memorials, markets and villages etc). Chez Nathalie bar and restaurant is just 100 meters away with very nice food although a limited menu and closed on Wednesdays. All in all, a really nice place to stay and one which we would recommend to other people who need a quiet relaxing break in lovely countryside.

The Lochnagar Mine

was the largest of the 17 mines that exploded on 1 July.

•Debris from the explosion rose some 4,000ft (1,200 metres) into the air.

•The mine was packed with 60,000lbs (27,216 kilograms) of ammonal in two charges 60ft (18 metres) apart and 52 feet (16 metres) below the surface.

•The tunnel was 1,030 feet (314M) long. The longest tunnel in chalk during the war.
