3 bedroom home one block from the Aerial Lift Bridge and the beach, Bay access
About Mary DuBois
Always a mid-westerner, I raised my children on the Iron Range of Minnesota, and moved to Duluth to run the Community College. I've been an educator all my life and had many wonderful jobs and experiences, and am presently teaching online for Bemidji State University. I live with my partner Lindy in the middle part of the state, but spend quite a bit of time on the point, especially when my daughter comes from Norway for 6 weeks. I have a publishing company, and also write fiction (under the pen name 'Bernie DuBois') and have written children's books (under the name Mary Koski) so the creativity of the point is special to me.

Why Mary DuBois chose Park Point
I so much wanted to return to the point after living there for many years in the mid-1990s and then again in 2005. When I last left the point, I thought that I might never be able to return, until I found this home that needed some TLC. Many projects later, I'm thrilled with the house and with the location. Nothing like sitting out on the deck at sunset and watching a ship go by! It is a magical, peaceful place. Yet blocks away there are tourists and energetic families and romantic couples - just a perfect mix of vacationers and people who have lived here their entire lives. I have fixed up the basement apartment for myself, so that if I have guests, I can still come and go for the occasional night in Duluth.
What makes this House unique
When I saw this home for the first time, I loved the mission-style construction that goes from the front door to the ceiling trim in the living room! During my remodel, I even kept the old coat hangers in the entryway and the pearled light switch covers, for old-time sake. I couldn't part with the 1950's awnings either - I had them repainted and reinstalled! The original hard-wood floors on the main floor are gorgeous, and the Master suite upstairs has just the right creaking from the original planked floors.

Grandma’s Marathon Reunion
This was our second consecutive year to enjoy Mary’s hospitality at her Park Point residence. Once again, the house was impeccable and Mary was helpful in making sure our experience was exceptional. We enjoyed relaxing on the well appointed deck for a post marathon celebration and catching up on the news from family members who traveled in from different states. Mary made sure that her home included all of the necessities for a stress free, fun getaway, and we were happy to have the option to cook together in her lovely kitchen. We would definitely come back!
Fantastic location to watch ships
We spent time touring the Duluth area in the day, but many of my family members were very excited to watch the ships going in and out of the canal through the aerial lift bridge. What a truly wonderful experience. The house was exactly as pictured and Mary greeted us the first night with a warm welcome.
Home away from home
This was so much better than staying in a hotel. Really enjoyed having access to all the things needed to cook and bath facilities and multiple bedrooms. Immediate access to the bay, the lake, and Canal Park was very convenient
As advertised- awesome location, roomy and lots of amenities.
Awesome location! I wish it would have been nicer weather wise as we could have walked to anything on Canal Park from the location. There is a great view off of the deck when the big ships come in from the Lift Bridge. It was very roomy, the kitchen was well stocked and it was even stocked for our dog! We will definitely book again.
So sorry your weather wasn't good, Lynn. It's only now starting to be nice for tourists - it was a long winter!
Girls’ Weekend Getaway
Perfect home for our needs. Close to Canal Park. Great views.
Just loved the entire time we spent in this adorable home. It was everything we expected and more! There was even dog dishes for those of us who forget easily what one needs to bring along when traveling with pets! Can't thank you enough Mary for your attentiveness to our needs, and to know you were only a phone call away.
With the beach only one block away, and the bay outside your back door, you have the best of both worlds - the beach for walks and swims, and kayaking and canoeing in the bay. Located only a block away from the aerial lift bridge, this home is within walking distance of canal park, the boardwalk, and all of the shopping and ship-watching of the harbor. Many restaurants are close by, such as Grandmas, little Angies Cantina and Grill, and Bellisio's. Only three blocks away, Adventure Zone is a great place for entertaining the kids, and includes a facility with games and miniature golf - perfect for rainy day entertaining!
