About this property

The Cottage on College Street

The Cottage is very cozy and spacious with 690 sq feet to spread out in; it is decorated with a mixture of vintage and industrial decor. Visitors will have complete privacy within the house at all times, but with our home close by, we are always happy to help should you need anything!

We are located in Downton Brandon in the Historic District. The Cottage is a guest house seated behind our home; it is a very quiet place, and it is great for working individuals, couples seeking a fun concert experience, or families participating in ball tournaments. We are approximately 10 miles from Jackson, so staying here is very convenient as well as very safe.

The house has been completely updated to include a bathroom (which also has one step up) with double vanities, a walk-in shower that includes a shaving ledge, and a washer/ dryer unit. There is a full kitchen that is well supplied for those that want to prepare meals and a bar top that accommodates 4 people. The bedroom is it's own room with closing doors for privacy; there are 2 steps going down into the bedroom. In the living room, we have a sleeper sofa along with a large 50" TV with an Amazon Fire Stick, use of our YouTube TV account (in lieu of cable), and even many DVDs to choose from if you want to go Old School! We provide all paper products, shower products and all linens. We even provide niceties such as some bottled water, coffee for the Keurig, snacks, and other small things to make it feel welcoming. We also have a small patio table outside with a wood burning fire pit for your use when the time comes.

The Cottage
There's really no downside to this property. A beautiful little home-away-from-home, hidden back off the main road, in a quaint southern town. The owners are proactive, thoughtful, and responsive, yet value your privacy. There is a spacious yard, stars in the night sky, and plenty to keep you occupied. High recommend!

Steve and I have been married since 2010, and he is a soldier and I’m a retired educator. I grew up here in Brandon, and we are an integral part of our community. We have always opened our home to traveling soldiers so now we are expanding that to others.

Why they chose this property

This property is very cozy, spacious, and quiet and allows super easy access to everything you need. It is positioned behind our home in the historic district in Downtown Brandon ,and it is in a lovely area that is very safe. It is approximately 10 miles from Jackson so you have complete convenience if traveling into the city for work without the safety concerns. The Cottage is fully updated and allows for complete privacy. It includes a bedroom, fully functioning kitchen, living area with a queen sleeper sofa, and a huge TV, internet and YouTube TV , and a bathroom that has double vanities, a walk in shower with a shaving ledge, and a washer dryer combo. It is much more comfortable than a hotel, close to the airport and the interstate, the Amphitheater, the parks where ball tournaments are played, shopping, restaurants, etc.

What makes this property unique

Our guest house is larger in size than others in town, so the renter is able to feel at home here instead of being cramped up. It is much nicer than being in a hotel with such a personal touch to it!
