Ideal as a City Break, this newly refurbished apartment offers stunning riverside views in a peaceful, central location. Two double bedrooms, bathroom, living/dining room and separate kitchen.
Situated in a newly refurbished mill, our 2-bedroom apartment is furnished to a high standard as a home from home, with light-oak furniture and fresh linen. It offers both comfort and convenience and an outlook directly onto the river so that you can just relax and watch the boats passing by and the tourists feeding the geese and swans.
Just a short walk (5 minutes) to the busy shops and historic city centre. Walk down the famous medieval street, ‘The Shambles’ leading to the magnificent cathedral, York Minster. Visit one of the many galleries and museums including the Jorvic Centre which provides a realistic and graphic experience of what life was like during the Viking occupation.
For a different view of the city, take a river cruise or dare yourself to join the nightly Ghost Walk (suitable for children) and learn some of the grizzly secrets of York’s past.
Enjoy an evening out dining at one of the many excellent restaurants or have a pint of beer in an Olde English pub and then dance the night away at a Nightclub. There are Theatres, an Opera House and a specialist Film Theatre with programmes to suit all tastes.
Leeds, Manchester, Liverpool and even London are all reachable within a day by train. The seaside town of Scarborough is reachable in under an hour.
Unfortunately there is no on-site car-parking at the apartment but free overnight parking is available from 6pm to 8am on the riverside beneath the apartment windows (please observe the strict times). Daytime parking is possible on the neighbouring streets but there is a fee for this. Free on-street parking is possible a short distance away but this would involve a walk of about 15 minutes back to the apartment. There are, however, two bicycles available for your use, as there are pleasant cycle paths alongside the river.
This apartment was spacious, clean, and a 10 min walk from York centre, with buses around the corner. Apartment was well set up, bright, with great outlook over the river. It was a bit noisy in the night due to some hotels accross the river- earplugs fixed that. Supermarket around the corner, shops nearby, safe neighborhood. I was there for a week for work and it was a great base- I felt at home. Excellent book selection!
Whilst initial view of the apartment seemed good, on closer inspection the whole place is a little 'unclean' maybe we have very high standards regarding cleanliness, but the bathroom was a big let down, cobwebs in a lot of places, bin in kitchen not good and the cupboards, while there was a lot of dishes and cutlery! Were overflowing with mismatched items. Just a little disappointed! There is no wifi in the apartment, which nowadays is really a must. And the parking in York is at a premium. There are car parks close by that cost a bit to park in, but if you are happy to walk about a mile and leave your car in a side street, then the apartment is so well located for all city centre attractions you do not need to use the car for the whole time you are in York. I pointed out all the above to the owner so hopefully these issues have been sorted out now.
The property was was very clean and more than big enough for 4 people to share (two couples). Perfect location, met on arrival by Margaret who went through everything and helped us organise our weekend. Only little little negative was the heat that weekend which made us have to open the windows and the pubs across the river were open well into the night. I know it's not often hot so we managed, maybe a fan in case it happens again?? Just booking again for next year, highly recommend.
Lovely stay. Can be a bit noisy at night with the bars across the river but with our visit happening in the summer, that could be more of an issue during the school holiday times. Overall, the location beat the noise at night.
We visited York for 3 nights at the beginning of December to catch up with family and visit York Christmas Market. This lovely property is just as described. It is very stylish, well equipped and clean. It is in a perfect location with very easy access into the city with all its eateries and tourist attractions, all within a short walking distance. Both Myrna and her housekeeper Margaret were very friendly and helpful in every aspect. Margaret was there to welcome us, advise us where to park and show us around the flat when we arrived. We would definitely recommend this property and hope to return ourselves in the not too distant future!.
We just had a whistle stop visit to York and the apartment was superbly situated for getting out and about into town! It was immaculately clean and had everything you would need for two nights or two weeks. Margaret the housekeeper was lovely and very helpful although we never managed to meet!!! Maybe next time!
A parking space would be a bonus but we used the long stay in St George's Fields which was closer than residential parking outside the parking zones.
We would definitely come back and would certainly recommend it to friends and family.
York Opera House, providing a varied programme to suit all tastes, is directly opposite the apartment on the other side of the river.
River cruises leave regularly from the quayside across the river.
Historic walks and talks as well as several museums and galleries.
Walk along the walls that surround the old city of York and enjoy the spectacular views.
Popular clubs and pubs are just a short walk away.

Cycle pathways around the city and along the river (2 bicycles available).

Minimum stay is for 2 nights. Basic fee is applicable to all bookings and is to cover overheads, i.e. cleaning, heating, administrative costs etc, thereby keeping the rate for additional nights to a minimum.,
Friday to Friday for weekly bookings, also possible to book long weekends and mid - week breaks, Starting Monday's and Fridays only, please enquire for dates and prices.
Although there is no parking available for the apartment, it is permissible to drive into the courtyard in order to unload or load your car. We can direct you to free off street parking within 15minutes walk from the apartment.
Payment by cheque, PayPal or bank transfer 4 weeks before arrival.

Departure time 10am
£100 paid one month in advance to secure the booking. Final payment to be made one month prior to the stay.
