A traditional character cottage close to beaches, Bude town centre and the canal

Bedrooms 3
Half Baths1
Property type cottage
Minimum Stay 1 - 7 nights

About the property

3 bedroom cottage to sleep 5 on north cornish coast, with parking and garden.

Brannel cottage is a delightful terraced cottage, situated between the canal and the river Neet, and a short walk from Bude town centre, Summerleaze and Crooklets beaches.

The cottage combines traditional charm with 21st century convenience and has gas central heating, a fully fitted kitchen including dishwasher, and a delightful courtyard garden with BBQ, table and chairs. There is off street parking for 2 cars.

The double, twin and single bedrooms accommodate 5 adults in comfort with a travel cot available for an infant (Please note the single bedroom cannot accommodate the travel cot). A separate sitting room with corner sofa, sofa bed and a games table offers space for children to play or read while the main sitting room has a TV and DVD player.

The dining hall has a farmhouse table and chairs for 6, from which the unusual staircase rises in two directions to the bedrooms and bathroom above. Many guests return year after year to this warm and welcoming cottage

The cottage is deceptively large with a lounge, dining room, fully fitted kitchen and a second lounge / playroom which has a small games table. The unusual stairs split into two directions and lead to 3 bedrooms - a double (king size bed), a twin room and a small single. The bathroom has a shower above the bath and there is an additional cloakroom downstairs. The courtyard garden has a built-in BBQ and patio table and chairs for 6, and there is parking for 2 cars via the rear access lane. Pet owners can bring 1 dog on request and for a small extra fee - pets are not allowed in the bedrooms.

Bude is an unspoilt resort on the north Cornish coast set in an area of great natural beauty. Summerleaze and Crooklets beaches are easily accessible on foot and Widmouth beach - popular with surfers, is just 3 miles along the coast. There is also a tide-washed natural swimming pool and beach lifeguards in attendance.

Close by there are public tennis courts, mini-golf, library, restaurants, pubs, a children's playground and a leisure centre with indoor swimming pool and bowling alley.

There are 3 large supermarkets in the vicinity and the cottage is almost next door to a post-office shop which is open 7 days a week.

Many guests return year on year to enjoy the unique position of the cottage and the delights of North Cornwall.

Beautiful cottage, Central Bude and car parking!

  • 5 of 5

Lovely well equipped cosy cottage, ideal for Bude beaches and shops. Owners had thought of everything. Sleeps five adults and plenty of space to lose each other. Hope to visit again in 2018.

We couldn't have asked for more

  • 5 of 5

The cottage is in an ideal location for access to the beech , the countryside and the town by foot. The most well equipped accommodation we have stayed in so far and the secure private courtyard garden was perfect for the dog.

After a very busy day exploring, the cozy lounge and tv room were most comfortable, as was the kingsize bed and thick winter duvet. We would love to go again.

Spacious cottage in a superb location

  • 4 of 5

The cottage was clean, well equipped and spacious.

The owners has thought of everything, including beach toys and wind shelters for the beach.

The games table came in handy for the older kids.

The location was second to none, we only went in the car once all week for a visit to Tintagel.

Some very minor points, the small bedroom was not big enough to fit a cot so it needed to be in the main bedroom

The double bed was very creaky so turning over in the night woke you up.

Owner's Response: Thank you for your positive feedback re your stay at Brannel Cottage. We are delighted that you found the cottage clean, tidy and well-equipped. The location of the cottage is a real bonus in that guests are not reliant on using their car. Thank you for your helpful comment re the cot - I will make sure it is clear on the website that the small bedroom is unable to accommodate a cot. I am sorry you had issues with a creaky bed disturbing your sleep - we will endeavour to rectify this ASAP. Christine & Ed Parker

one of the nicest cottages we have stayed in.

  • 5 of 5

A Comfortable well equipped cottage presented in an immaculately clean condition. Ample room for all the family, the separate lounge/ games room is an additional bonus. The cottage has character and is situated in a brilliant position. Having its own parking is a big bonus. No need for a car if you stay here, you can park it and forget it. Everything you need is here, ample wardrobe space, always a bonus. Lovely area in the garden for eating out. Post Office 3 doors away means if you run out of anything you only have yards to walk. Great for the morning paper, and delicious scones. Would certainly return.

Very comfortable, great location with a short walk to the canal and the beach, parking not an issue at all. This is our second time in the cottage and will definitely be retuning next year!

The clifftops at Bude offer walks and hiking along one of the most spectacular sections of the South West Coastal path. The Sustrans Cycle route also passes through the area.

The beaches offer wide expanses of sand, and all are patrolled by lifeguards during the season. Summerleaze and Crooklets beaches are a 5 minute walk away while Widmouth - the popular surfing beach all year round is

approx 2.5 miles along the coast.

The Bude canal is a popular spot for fishing and for the energetic canoes and rowing boats can be hired. Public tennis courts, mini golf, and bowls are a mere 100 metres away, whilst the golf course is a a ten minute walk. Riding stables are within walking distance and a pitch and putt golf course a 5 miles drive.

Numerous local restaurants and pubs offer a variety of options to eat out, whilst the local pasty shop has a well earned reputation not only for sumptuous pasties but for the best bread pudding ever made!

Other Activities: Canoeing, bowling
