Why Owner/Manager chose Walker
My husband and two sons started fishing Mill Lacs Lake weekends in 2000 and I was left home alone. In 2003 we decided to buy a lake home. We are now empty nesters and Doug has become a pilot of a small plane. We spend some weekends flying the friendly skies. Our cabin is very unique and we enjoy sharing it with others.

Great cabin up North
Our family had a GREAT time at this cabin -- we enjoyed the variety of spaces for people to gather or be separated, the spacious lawn for games and letting our kids run about, and we even brought up their bikes to play on the basketball court. Really close proximity to the harbor for bringing a boat or jet ski. Water toys for playing on the rocky beach.
The only feedback for future renters is recognizing there isn't A/C up front; luckily we only had two hot nights and then the temps came down a bit. There are lots of fans in each of the bedrooms to help bring in outdoor air. For a home of this size and price, we just didn't catch that up front when we were picking out a rental. We were aware the railings weren't to code, so we brought 100' of snow fencing and large zip ties, to keep our toddlers safe, which I'd highly recommend to ease your mind if you are bringing young kids. The rest of the amenities made up for these more minor issues, we had a great time!
The owner was very responsive to questions, both ahead of the trip and during, which is of course appreciated! If we get that far up north again, we'd highly consider renting again and perhaps in a different season as it would be fun to do a bonfire in either of the outdoor spaces!
We are all about families getting together and having fun.
Whew, it looks like the mercury reached 86 the first two days with high humidity! That was about 8 degrees above average for mid July, which is why we don’t have air conditioning in the great north woods.
We do have one window air conditioner that we could have put in for you.
Thanks for the info, enjoyed having you.
Another Great Week On Leech!
We had a great week on Leech! Beautiful accomodations & views of Leech Lake! We look forward to another visit!
Glad you and your family had a good time once again!!!
A Slice of Heaven
My family and I stayed at this beautiful historic log home for a week and it just was not long enough. It felt like a slice of heaven. The property is so inviting and even more beautiful than the pictures. The beach area was perfect for swimming or lounging. There was plenty of space inside and out for the whole family to enjoy a week long vacation. The glassed in porch was the best place to relax in the evenings playing games, reading, and telling stories. It doesn't get any better than waking up to a lake breeze and the sound of the loons calling! We spent most of our days fishing, swimming, boating, Kayaking, and taking in the beauty of Leech Lake. There may have also been a couple of trips into Walker to shop at the boutiques.
The owners are great to work with and I would definitely recommend staying at the Leech Lake Log Home!
The cabin was large and comfortable for the whole family, the kids and dog loved the huge beach, and the owner was very responsive when some bad storms knocked out power to the area. We would definitely stay again!
Great location and cabin
My family enjoyed staying here and felt very comfortable in this home. Would definitely stay again
Our family stay a week in this beautiful cabin. There were 8 adults, two toddlers and a newborn and were never crowded. Absolutely love the feel of this beautiful log home. It gave us a true up north feel. The kitchen had everything we needed and was a pleasure to prepare meals in. Working with the owner was a pleasure. She went out of her way to see that we enjoyed our stay. We will definitely try to stay at this beautiful cabin again.
