Nice lodge with a very modern internal fit-out. Views spectacular

  • 5 of 5

Fantastic short break and first visit to Limefitt. We would definitely stay again. Lodge was everything we needed with a nice internal space and well positioned within the park - close to the entrance and road but up high and therefore better views.

Weather was poor for the first couple of days but we took the chance to do two walks that went directly from the Park. It didn't take long to get up into the hills and enjoy some spectacular views.

We tried the onsite pub and found the service and food to be very good with a good selection of beers.

The park is very dog friendly which suited us and our dog also had a great time (she's slept ever since).

I would definitely recommend this Park. We've stayed at White Cross before but Limefitt offers a better onsite pub and far better views plus there are several walks direct from the site which is ideal, especially in poor weather.

Clean comfortable and private

  • 5 of 5

We first stayed at this cabin about 8yrs ago and have been returning every year since, our stayed has always been 1st class from the cabin itself to the facilities on site, the Barn Inn has changed a little in decor but still has its charm with friendly and helpful staff, the staff you see around the park are always polite and welcoming, we cannot fault anything, we have recommended this park to family and friends for the walks restaurants nearby towns and not to mention the most outstanding beauty of the fells, we hope to return again next year, and ofcourse we would give this lodge and park 5***** :-)

Very good, but not perfect.

  • 3 of 5

Excellent location. Lovely views.

Well equipped throughout. Good quality furnishings.

Housekeeping needs a little more attention to detail though - the property was very clean and tidy but a couple of things let it down. Firstly when we opened the fridge, there was a really bad odour of sour milk.. I think it tainted our fooda liitle on the first night. I bought a fresh lemon the next day to deodourise the fridge for future visitors. Secondly, we were very lucky with the weather and my husband said oooh we could have a barbecue tomorrow. He opened the lid and found it had been used as an ash tray for cigarette ends.

Sorry, but our first impressions were a bit disappointing.
