Visited family and walked the Freedom Trail
The apartment was huge and the view was spectacular. However, our stay was for 4 days and only received 3 packets of dishwasher detergent. When I chatted with a representative for one more I was told they don’t restock midstay but also wanted the dishwasher run before we left. The request takes 24-48 hours to receive so we never received the detergent in time and had to leave a note for housekeeping. Also we had no means of cleaning up after snacks/ meals. There were no dishcloths, potholders, vacuum or dust pan. There was one broom in a closet. The garbage disposal leaked into the cupboard below and the ice maker in the freezer dropped into the refrigerator and soaked all the shelving and our food.
My family of 6 really enjoyed our stay in Boston. Great location. I had many questions and the owner always replied in a very prompt and accurate manner.
Great location, but uncomfortable beds & 3rd bed is in middle of living room
Pros: The location was fantastic - convenient walking to restaurants and attractions.
Cons: The bed in the living room (yep, in the middle of the only living room area) is rock hard, as is the master bed, and most of the pillows were terrible. 3 out of 4 of us didn't get a good night's sleep the whole week and my back was sore every morning. I stay in a ton of hotels and Homeaway rentals, and this was the worst bed I've ever slept in.
Seating in the living area was ridiculous - you could sit on one of two tiny loveseats (which comfortably seat one, or two could sit together if very tight) or you could sit on the bed. There's a useless bench seat along the wall that just takes up room but is not well positioned if you want to watch tv, and of course, it's also rock hard with a very flat cushion that does nothing for comfort. The black easy chair shown in the listing was not in the apt.
For 4 adults it was a cramped space to be together, which is too bad because if the space were better utilized it could be great. If the property owner replaced the terrible bed in the living area with a huge, comfy futon and upgraded the other seating, it would be a very comfortable, roomy space. Also would strongly suggest replacing master bed and upgrading with new pillows throughout, and it would change rating from 3 stars to 5,
All the pillows and mattresses are change as of this review as well as two new sofas in the TV area.
Great place in Boston
Loved our stay! The place is located on the bottom floor of a brownstone in a nice neighborhood. Convenience store and coffee shops within a block. Less than 20 minute walk to Boston Common or just take the subway which is within minutes. The hosts are great people. We would definitely stay there again.
Everything went smoothly, location was great.
Love the neighborhood
We really enjoyed our recent stay here! It was nice for 3 friends/colleagues to hang out yet each have our own space. Loved the area! Conveniently located in a quiet neighborhood. Highly recommend!
